We have a teleconference scheduled to discuss the ID & Routing Overview
Working Paper this Friday 2002-06-28, at 2:00-3:00 pm EDT. To
participate, call 703-736-7290, and specify Pin #6074647.

Overview Working Paper volunteers, including Chris Feahr, Mimi Hart, Ron
Bowron, Peter Barry and myself, are encouraged to call in; all others
are welcome to listen in and participate. In order to have something to
start with, I've placed an e-mail "brain dump" at
http://www.novannet.com/wedi/Overview.doc. To see the Outline on the
left-hand side, ensure that you are viewing the Word document in
"outline" mode (View | Outline). It includes just about every snippet
that I thought might be worth mining from e-mail postings on the
WEDi/SNIP ID & Routing mailing list up to 06-07. There are 85 pages
(301KB) of raw bulk content - probably enough to generate a few dozen
pages of a completed document once it's organized, culled and edited.

The outline is a very rough organization of the content and probably
could still use some futzing. When we're all satisfied that the outline
makes sense, and the raw content is in the correct place(s), we can
commence building a readable document out of it. I know there must be a
lot of good stuff in here.

When all this stuff is finally organized - maybe something that can be
done by the end of the phone call - Chris and Mimi will probably take it
away and write the first draft of the Overview. Then the rest of the
Working Paper principals can weigh in with our changes. Then, finally,
it would be shared with the rest of WEDI/SNIP ID & Routing group.

Once we've gotten feedback from the group at large, I see us turning the
draft over to Peter Barry, white-paper author Par Excellence, for final
editing, coloration and formatting. It could be reviewed a couple more
times before being submitted to the entire Business Issues Working Group
for a look-see. Keep in mind that this overview is only one working
paper: the implementable specifications (the other three working
papers) are the "real" work product. But at least folks in BI can get a
good idea of what we've been jabbering about over the last 5 months.
