Be sure is the very same test on the very same machine, not just one of "the same type". The lowest figures I got have been on almost naked 486s. If you got 20 us it should not be impossible to get 10 us by keeping the machine quiet. Moreover be sure that those RTOSes are using the MMU in its full capability, it can make some difference.
