Hi,

just for my understanding, is it possible by design to mix drivers for x64 (windows 7 64 bit) and xp printing on one samba server?

I have the xp driver installed and everything is running fine. Using the printer management console on a windows 7 machine I am able to install 64bit win 7 driver on the same samba server, they go into the dir 'x64' as expected.

From the windows 7 printermanagement console I am not able to assossiate a
queue with the new driver, on teh samba server I see:

 rpcclient -U <uid> <printserver> -c 'enumdrivers'
[ snip ]
[Windows x64]
Printer Driver Info 1:
Driver Name: [KONICA MINOLTA 350/250/200 VPS]

[printserver] # rpcclient -U<uid> -c 'setdriver itmfp1_x64 "KONICA MINOLTA 350/250/200 VPS"' <printserver>
Enter chbeyer's password:
Successfully set itmfp1_x64 to driver KONICA MINOLTA 350/250/200 VPS.

Though the windows 7 client is still not happy and tells me there is no driver installed, the enum_printer_driver log looks like this:

[2010/03/15 14:27:24.026479, 4] rpc_server/srv_spoolss_nt.c:6594(_spoolss_EnumPrinterDrivers)

There is a xp driver with the same 'drivername' eventually this is the problem ?

Any hint is appreciated, everything else looks very promising !!!! :)

cheers
