Hello, Thanks, that certainly seems to be a step in the right direction. I see that if the tape is already mounted, and not doing something else, it seems to work reproducibly. If the tape is not mounted (and this is a VTL) or it is busy, then samba does not seem to occasionally pickup the stream when it starts to stage the file.
