We had the word ?????: in Lesson 2. Here it is ???????. Earlier the meaning
was "diligence, industriousness". Here the meaning is "by indulgence, by
industriousness". So the meaning of the preposition "by" is included in the

I am grateful to Shri Abhyankar for sharing with us a new approach to learn 
Sanskrit through selected pithy aphorisms/subhashitas. An added bonus is that 
one can also learn about the Bharatiya samskriti in the process. With a similar 
purpose in mind I edited (with an introduction) a compilation of about 360 
subhashitas with English translation that was prepared by the Hindu Swayamsevak 
Sangh for its members in the US. It is available for a free download on Google 
documents. You may also access it through the google by entering "subhashitas 
for the sangh shakha."
