So Microsoft convinces IT pros to spend a lot of energy earning MS
certifications. Then tosses the certifications in the trash?

I have to wonder what the hell these people are thinking...

WTF Microsoft? Not happy enough with making a mess in the consumer area that
you have to make a mess in the bussiness/enterprise area too?

And now they've terminated the Microsoft Certified Master, Microsoft
Certified Solutions Master and Microsoft Certified Architect certifications
with only one month's notice. And even worse sent out the email announcing
it late on a Friday night before a 3 day holiday weekend.

So in my technet subscription it says I have it all the way to 2016.
Others contacting cdw are telling them that it's an error and that
Technet will go away in a year.

Given that these are also the same vendors that have been also telling
customers they can't sell technet any more as Microsoft pulled the sku
early, I'm not sure what to think other than Microsoft's vlsc process is
totally flawed and is very lame.

All I know is what I read on the page
(http://technet.microsoft.com/subscriptions/default.aspx) that "

Microsoft will continue to honor all existing TechNet Subscriptions.
Subscribers with active accounts may continue to access program benefits
until their current subscription period concludes.

IT professionals who would like to purchase a new TechNet Subscription
may do so through August 31, 2013. If your TechNet Subscription expires
on or before September 30, 2013, you are eligible for a final, one-time
renewal of the subscription. Any renewals must be purchased on or before
August 31, 2013. Subscribers may activate purchased subscriptions
through September 30, 2013."

There is nothing that leads me to believe that these subscriptions will
be not be honored, and if they shut them down early, I will make a very
big stink about this.
