At the Institute for Theoretical Physics, Condensed Matter Theory Group there is an opening for two Positions in Condensed Matter Theory BAT IIa part-time (50%) The appointment will be for two years starting in December 2009, subject to final approval of the project by the DFG. Fields: computational physics, condensed matter, theoretical physics. The candidate should have a Masters degree or diploma in Theoretical Physics with an excellent academic background and good computational skills. Applicants with research experience on ab initio Density Functional Theory, and/or Dynamical Mean Field Theory calculations on correlated systems are encouraged to apply. The focus of the work will be the microscopic description of the behavior of Fe-pnictides and Fe-chalcogenides superconductors under pressure effects. Teaching support will be welcomed.
