The Faculty of Science, Department of Biology, Chair of
Proteomics, is offering a 

                     Postdoctoral position
                                
to a highly motivated scientist interested in fundamental
aspects of bone biology. Projects are focused on signaling
pathways regulating osteoclastogenesis and genes regulating
osteoclast function in bone degradation. The proposed projects
will involve classical methods of cell biology and conditional
knockouts in mice. Aapplicants are invited for a 2 year period.
An extension of the contract might be possible. The period of
employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act
(Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG).  Salary will be
in accordance of E 13 TV-L.
Requirements: The successful candidate must have the relevant
scientific degrees and a PhD. Experience in cell and molecular
biology is required. Additional knowledge in signal transduction
and transgenic mouse technology would be helpful. An expertise
in siRNA-based screening could also be an advantage. Due to the
international nature of the lab and close cooperation with our
researchers groups and BIOTEC companies, knowledge in English
language and ability for teamwork are required.
