Agree with you on number 1.  Number 2 sounds unmemorable. 3 is I think known 
as 'Colonel Rodney' in Ireland- it's one of those Mason's Apron type tunes.  
The Scots tune Marquis of Tullybardine is similar (but I don't think the 
source).
