Hi,

After compiling a toolchain with Buildroot and trying to integrate it
inside Scratchbox, I faced the issue reported in November 2006 on this
list [1]. I understand the proposed solution in [2] and I'm currently
trying it.

However, something is not clear to me. The page
http://scratchbox.org/wiki/CrossToolToolchain says that for systems
with glibc 2.4 or newer, the toolchain has to be compiled inside
Scratchbox to work properly with Scratchbox's libc.

However, I tried the operation on two systems:

 * Debian Unstable, with libc 2.7-9

 * Ubuntu 7.10, with libc 2.6.1-1ubuntu10

On Debian Unstable, I compiled the Buildroot toolchain outside
Scratchbox and I was able to integrate it inside Scratchbox without any
problem. On Ubuntu 7.10, in a similar scenario, I faced the issue
reported in [1].

So the criteria "2.4 or newer" doesn't seem to be completely valid. Do
you have any explanation for this behaviour ?

Thanks a lot for your insights,

Sincerly,

Thomas
