THE MISSING LINK | A Web hoax pokes fun at M.I.T.'s media lab

It's a case of turning the tables on M.I.T. Remember those wacky
Massachusetts Institute of Technology students who pull high-
profile pranks? Well, now the joke is on the jokesters at the
institute's offbeat Media Laboratory. A student there has launched
a parody Web site that describes a lab obsessed with the effects
technology has on -- ready? -- eroticism! Apparently more than a
few techies are enjoying a good laugh. The specious site is so
popular it's slowing down the network. (Free registration to this
site is required.)
