SV: Danish overtakes Italian in debconf translations race....:-)
It might actually be possible for Danish to reach 100% or close to that. with a freeze date around mid 2012 or later for new packages and a lot of NMUs just before that I would say it could be done. - Original meddelelse - Fra: Christian PERRIER Til: debian-l10n-italian@lists.debian.org; debian-l10n-dan...@lists.debian.org Cc: Sendt: 7:23 tirsdag den 3. januar 2012 Emne: Danish overtakes Italian in debconf translations race:-) As of today, Danish is now ranked 11th in debconf translations ratio, with 76,54% of strings translated while Italian has 76,11% (it seems that NMUs of mine helped a little bit in this, particularly the NMU of dbconfig-common). I know that the Italian team will react to this and do its best to follow the currently crazy progress rate of Danish (and Joe Hansen's tireless translations)... Anyway your common goal is of course reaching the heaven of 100percentness, right? :-) Anyway, congratulations to both teams: you guys are among the quite active ones in Debian localization and you definitely deserve some rewards... -- -- Per REVOCARE l'iscrizione alla lista, inviare un email a debian-l10n-italian-requ...@lists.debian.org con oggetto "unsubscribe". Script help
Hi, sorry for writing in English on an Italian mailing lists, but my Italian is not very good. I write as I have heard what the Italian team has some script which aid in the translation effort for the package descriptions. I would like to hear if I could »borrow« those script. More specific am I looking for a way to find all the package descriptions in Danish which is only missing the short description. F.ex. http://ddtp.debian.net/ddt.cgi?desc_id=220965&getuntrans=da I don't now the number (it could be small, it could be big), but with the all or nothing policy, it would be nice to have those description included in the new release. And most likely it would push Danish over 50 %. hope to hear from you. bye Joe Danish -- Per REVOCARE l'iscrizione alla lista, inviare un email a debian-l10n-italian-requ...@lists.debian.org con oggetto "unsubscribe". More specific am I looking for a way to find all the package descriptions in Danish which is only missing the short description. The only scripts that I know of are 2 scripts created by Davide Prina. The first one was posted on debian-i18n mailing list [1] and can even be "internationalized". I don't use it (anymore) regularly. If I recall correctly it automatically fetches packages that were previously translated and need to be updated; makes a list of possibly partially translated packages (based on the packages' names); and lastly makes a list of packages to translate ordered by number of lines to translate. I am afraid the last function takes into consideration the total lines and not only the ones that needs translation. So I don't think it can do what you are asking. The second script can fetch the first "X" untranslated descriptions from the popcon list. It was posted in the Italian maling list [2]. I could help with the translation if you have problem understanding it. I work at the DDTSS for Italian every day but I don't know of any other script or any that can do what you are asking. I hope this helps at least a little, beatrice. Note that I don't use the "sh" at the beginning. I immagine it is some kind of "bashism" in the script, since I use /bin/bash as a shell command. Tux Paint - translation update for Italian (it)
Hi Beatrice All translator comments from the last release has now been integrated, so now its time to get those strings updated. It should be a quick update, as there is no new strings/things to investigate. It could be a good idea to look through the translation of Click and drag for your language to make it consistent (especially if several translators has been working on your language file). This update is not followed by a new release (the next release expected ultimo this year is only going to see small changes to the strings, as it is primary a code clean up release). It it therefore a good time to get the translation up again to 100 %. And work has started on an Android port, which is now in beta. If you do not have direct access, then send your updated file to tuxpaint-i...@lists.sourceforge.net or me (joedalt...@yahoo.dk).
