[Dx4win] (no subject)

2006-02-14 Thread Luis E. DeJesus
Dear Friends:

Will appreciate your assistance to solve the following:

I am using the MMTTY interfaced with DX4WIN, Ver 7.01 software and the
interface between my Mark V and the PC is the Nomic Rig Blaster.

Whenever I grab a cluster spot both the green LSB and the red RTTY leds light
but I am unable to transmit, since the PTT is not activated. However, if I
turn off the red RTTY led and only leave the LSB led on I am able to transmit.
Obviously, this causes a shift on the frequency and I am obliged to retune.

That process is time consuming and inefficient. So will appreciate comments on
the proper way to configure the system so that I can transmit as soon as I grab
the spots.

Appreciate very much comments on the above situation.

I'm also having problems getting MMTTY to work with DX4Win. According to the
help file, hitting F1 through F8 should key the transmitter and send the
message.
When I try it, it doesn't key the transmitter but does que the message so
when I
hit F11, the transmitter keys and the message goes out. Am I missing a special
character at the front of the message that will key the transmitter? I
couldn't find
anything in the help file that would give me a clue.

Thanks, Rick, N6ND

[Dx4win] RTTY F KEYS AND COM PORT

2006-02-14 Thread Richard Zalewski
Question 1- My F keys will not send the message but I can send from keyboard
Question 2- (Maybe related to #1)When I key an F key I get a message
An exception occured- Device already open.

I have the keying for RTTY on Com2. I used to also have the keying
for CW on Com2 but found that won't work even if I only have one of
the windows open at a time. So now if I want RTTY I have to set CW to
Comm- None.

If you put %X at the start of the message it will key the PTT line and send
the message.

[Dx4win] RTTY F KEYS AND COM PORT

2006-02-14 Thread Floyd Sense
Never tried that before, but did after seeing your question. I use COM2 for
RTTY and so set up COM2 for CW as you have. With no MMTTY window open, I
can send CW just fine from the window. If I then open the DX4WIN MMTTY
window, MMTTY will not key the COM2 interface under any conditions - using
the TX key in MMTTY or any of the message buffers. As you said, the CW
window doesn't have to be open at the time for this to be a problem. I also
have to set the CW port to NONE in order for MMTTY to work properly on the
same COM port.

I just recently upgraded to DX4WIN 7.01 to check out the MMTTY
implementation. I was disappointed to see that the macro buttons that
normally appear at the left of the signal displays is not present when using
MMTTY from within DX4WIN. Guess that's a casualty of the way MMTTY
implemented the interface.

Works the same way with Writelog. You get a minimalist MMTTY window.
