Guys, You can do a filter like: F8 to specify filter !K in the prefix field (NOT USA) * in State field Enter to start filtering You will see KL7 HI etc with the matching state abbreviation; if not, you have a problem. --Paul, KK4HD On Thu, Jan 22, 2015 at 7:16 PM, Art - W6KY via DX4WIN < dx4win@mailman.qth.net> wrote: > F8 > K in Prefix box > AL in State box > > Y in LOTW CFM box > > 373 LOTW AL QSO's Confirmed > with K,A*,N and W prefixes > > > Running Win XP > DX4WIN 8.05 > > > 73, Art W6KY > www.w6ky.com > > > > . > > > > From: John Shaw > To: 'John 5B4AHK' <5b4...@cytanet.com.cy>; DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net > Sent: Thursday, January 22, 2015 3:45 PM > Subject: Re: [Dx4win] LotW import problem > > > I also import the LOTW download (with all details checked) into my 8.04 > log. > > I did a check and couldn't find any non K Prefix QSO's with a state > assigned. 194803 QSO's in the log. > > This was my process for checking: > > Do a F8 filter, K in the Prefix box and a state in the state box, say AL. > Then do a filter count. Re: [Dx4win] LotW import problem
Hi I import the LOTW download (with all details checked) into my 8.05 log and I have just checked my log by searching using F8 with the State/Oblast abbreviation in the box. I do not get one single non-USA call-sign appearing! I checked against. AL GA IN KS MA MD MO NV OR and TN. I wonder why ? 73 John 5Β4ΑΗΚ I just noticed an unusual problem while importing LotW QSOs into the log. When a Russian station has its Oblast set in the LotW QSO details that matches an abbreviation of a US state, the state flag for that particular QSO in DX4Win gets changed from blank to the state matching the abbreviation and, in addition, the zone of the station changes to the zone matching the state. This is something that changed in LoTW in the last 6 months or so. After every import, I always search for Import: in the "Notes for this QSO" field. If I run across the situation described above, I simply erase the State field in the QSO (and save it using F10) and all returns to normal. I hope Paul can fix this in a future version of DX4WIN, i.e. qualify filling in the State field with the DXCC entity. 73 - Jim AD1C --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. http://www.avast.com __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

[Dx4win] Recovering log from DX4WIN.DXB
Hello all I had logged two contacts with EP6T yesterday, and in my excitement I forgot to click on SAVE before I went to bed last night. I left DX4WIN 8.05 running overnight as I often do. This morning I found that DX4WIN was not running although my e-mail program (OUTLOOK 2010) was still running. When I clicked on the DX4WIN button the program DID NOT GIVE me a message that it had closed due an abnormal condition, and therefore did not give me the choice to save the log file to a different name and to recover it. However, my normal software backup program did save my DX4WIN.DXB file last night. My question is this: How do I open the DXB file to recover the times that I had made these two contacts? Or, is there a method of importing this file into DX4WIN?
