I agree in principle, but as others have pointed out, it's difficult to do anything about it by now. Ideally I'd actually like to get rid of the entire cdefgabc scale idiocy altogether and start the scale on the letter a as God and Guido intended. I've always suspected Helmholtz (the guy who came up with the modern octave designation system) deliberately tried to make things as difficult as possible for the poor young would-be-musicians. But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe he was just stupid.
