[android-developers] widgets overlap (are on top of each other)

hello,
 I created a simple app with 2 checkboxes a button and a text field. And I 
see all of these widgets on top of each other on the upper left hand corner 
of the screen when I run the app. In the design tab of android studio, 
these widgets are spaced one on top of the other. What am I doing wrong?

[android-developers] Can't add in app product in Google Play Console

I'm testing in-app-billing API with my app. I've published the app in alpha 
channel. However, I wasn't able to add any in-app product in Google Play 
Console. The error says "The in-app product could not be saved. Please 
check the form for errors." but I don't know where to find the form and the 
error messages. Here is the screenshot of the error. Anyone can help with 
this? Thanks!

[android-developers] Intel Atom Android not finding entry in jni library?

I'm trying to get our application to work on an android 5.1 device that is 
powered by an Intel Atom. It already works on ARM 7 and 8 devices.  Being a 
WebRTC application, there is a large shared library that does the heavy 
lifting, libjingle_peerconnection_so.so.  However, when I launch the 
application on the device, I see the following messages in the logs:

If I unzip the apk on my host machine, cd into its lib/x86_64 directory, 
and do an "ls -l"  I see:

Running the linux file on libjingle_peerconnection_so.so gives:

libjingle_peerconnection_so.so: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, x86-64, 
version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped


If I run "nm -D libjingle_peerconnection_so.so | fgrep 
nativeInitializeAndroidGlobals", it prints out

006b0e91 T 
Java_org_webrtc_PeerConnectionFactory_nativeInitializeAndroidGlobals

which would appear to be the symbols that android launcher is complaining 
about not finding.

The apk's MANIFEST.MF file seems to list all the shared libaries for each 
architecture, including the x64_64 one.

Name: lib/x86_64/libjingle_peerconnection_so.so
SHA-256-Digest: d8E3w3kKWDLuHcbpIJo99Wjwx+a6o4l78MoRXjEWbQM=


Any ideas of what could be going wrong?

I am developing an android app .In this app i want to get my location 
(latitude and longitude) and want to show nearby markers under certain 
radius. And my Questions are :-

Q1)How to retrieve or get my current location and the store it in variables 
(in terms of latitude and longitude) ? Suppose my co-ordinates are "2.3331 
, 5.2223" , so how to get this in 2 variables ( lat and long).

Q2)How to create a marker on Google map activity using json values (json 
data is coming from remote database) ? I am having the data( latitude and 
longitude ) in json of 3 locations , now from that data how to create 
markers on google map ?

[android-developers] Best practices for URLConnection - timeouts, retries.

I do not believe that UrlConnection is behaving optimally. 

What are the best practices for use of timeouts and retries? 

IE
Short timeout but many retries. 
Long timeout - no retries
Short Timeout, then retry with longer timeout. 
Some actual numbers to start with. 
Whether readtimeout and connecttimeout should be different. 

Etc. 

You may be tempted to say"well, that depends on your use case and how fast 
your server responds."

I have no control over the servers or where the end users access them from, 
so assume "all over the map".

As for use case, I am downloading lots of small files (ie 20k) using a 
threadpool. 

Long timeouts will tie up the threadpool if the download is just going to 
fail anyway. 

I found this from Tim Bray.

But the real life example code he referred to is no longer there.
