[android-developers] Eclipse plugin can no longer render layout

2012-02-23 Thread rdietrick
I've defined a few custom View and ViewGroup subclasses that I've been
using successfully in my layout XML files. Then out of nowhere the
Eclipse plugin is no longer able to render them in the Graphical
Layout tab. It gives the following error:

com.android.layoutlib.bridge.MockView cannot be cast to
android.view.ViewGroup
Exception details are logged in Window Show View Error Log
The following classes could not be found:
- com.pitchplayer.ui.NotifierLayout (Change to
com.pitchplayer.ui.NotifierLayout, Fix Build Path, Edit XML, Create
Class)

My custom layout class (com.pitchplayer.ui.NotifierLayout) is valid
and compiles successfully. I searched for similar problems and people
suggested changing the layout renderer to use Android 3.0 libraries,
but that didn't solve the problem. Anybody have any idea how to
resolve this?

Thanks.

Re: [android-developers] Eclipse plugin can no longer render layout

2012-02-23 Thread Kostya Vasilyev
You can try removing code from your view class, piece by piece, to get it
to work in the layout editor...

... then add back the removed pieces, wrapped in if(! isInEditMode()),
which returns true in the layout editor.

[android-developers] Eclipse plugin bug

2010-12-14 Thread Keith Wiley
This is a new bug which seems to have cropped up as of a recent
version of the plugin. I currently have 0.9.9.v201009221407-60953.
If I override the default LogCat font (default is Courier 10) it
switches to some other font, something sans serif. I'm not sure which
font it is selecting (I can't eyeball it I'm afraid) but it definitely
is the same font at the same size no matter what I choose, not matter
how I override the default. If I click the restore-default button, it
reverts to Courier 10, but if I attempt any manual font/size choice,
it always selects the same font and size, something approximately
Helvetica 12ish.

Does anyone know anything about this?

[android-developers] Eclipse plugin stopped working after update

2010-06-01 Thread mort
I updated the Eclipse plugins (Help - Check for update). Since the
restart after installation, the plugins aren't working any longer.
They're still enlisted in installation details, but there are no
Android preferences, no Android menu entries, no editor (Could not
open the editor: No editor descriptor for id
com.android.ide.eclipse.editors.manifest.ManifestEditor), and so on.
I tried to un- and reinstall the plugins with no success.
I'm using Eclipse Galileo with Windows 7.
Any idea how I could get my Android IDE working again?

[android-developers] eclipse plugin is gone

2009-11-19 Thread gsgleason
https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ gives 404. Is this
intentional? I'm guessing not since this
http://developer.android.com/sdk/eclipse-adt.html
site still has it documented as the place to get the plugin.

[android-developers] Eclipse Plugin allows Spaces in String.xml, but generated invalid R.java

2009-07-13 Thread Frank Maker

The Android eclipse plugin allows spaces in the values field, without
any errors. This then causes invalid java syntax to be generated in
the R.java file. I recommend adding a simple check for spaces in the
value field, displaying an error and not allowing the value to be
submitted.

[android-developers] Eclipse plugin

2009-01-12 Thread Andrei Craciun
Hi all,
I've just noticed that

https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/

is not working. Have I missed something? What site should I add to Eclipse
in order to install the plugin?

Regards,
Andrei

[android-developers] Eclipse plugin URL invalid?

2009-01-10 Thread Mark Wyszomierski

Hi,

Just switched to eclipse-ganymede, was trying to get the android
plugin via the getting started directions here:

https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/

but keep getting an error about that URL being invalid. Is anyone else
having the same problem, the URL used to work when I was developing a
few months ago,

Thanks
