[android-developers] Telephony API

2009-10-01 Thread Konrad

Hi out there,

I need to execute a new Intent right after a call has ended.

The code line for starting the call is:

startActivityForResult(new Intent(Intent.ACTION_CALL, Uri.parse(tel:
+4922031010424)), 1);

which works fine.

For starting the new Intend I have implemented:

protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode,
Intent data) {}

The problem I am facing is, that pressing the END CALL button in the
dailer menue does not end up in this method. I am getting the result
on the ACTION_CALL only if I execute the BACK button on the phone or
emulator.

Does somebody know what I am doing wrong? Is there a tutorial for the
Telephony API availiable?

Thank you for your attention

Konrad

[android-developers] Telephony API in Android

2009-03-06 Thread Arunk

I am new to Android. I have developed application for blackberry. I
want to develop the same application for Android also.

Is there anything like phone listner in Android?

How feasible its to implement an application which overrides the
native phone application?

When my application is running if someone make a call, I want to
disconnect the call and dial a modified number.

Same way I want to get Call Initiated, call connected, call
disconnected, call incoming and call answered events.

In blackberry PhoneListner class is prividing all these. Same way
Symbian and Windows mobile also provides this. So I want to develop
our application in android also. But I didn't find any API for that.

is it possible to do this in Android?

[android-developers] Telephony API?

2008-03-26 Thread GaryH

All:

I have read a number of post about not being able to intercept
incoming calls, get the outgoing call in real time, and a number of
other phone features which one would expect to be present in an open
system.

Without muddling the waters more than they already are around this
issue, my question is directly aimed at Google. This question and
request has been asked before, however, I have not seen any direct
response todate.

Q: With the platform being toughted as open, why then would you hide
or otherwise make certain features which many (read as a good
majority) of the developers seek or need. Certain basic phone features
are very useful in such a wide variety of applications.

Aside form perhaps some of the obvious commercial reasons, what are
the plans to make incercepting incoing call information, outgoing call
information and a number of other call features which other developers
have inquired about available?

I think there have been many formal and informal request along this
line... so whats the answer?

Gary
