I concur with sonicwall, I have some of them setup with a mitel 3300icp
and a teleworker, I have dropped calls, choppy audio and silence on a
fibre link

Actually, IMHO SonicWalls are barely suitable for internet access,

regular
internet browsing and UDP is completely broken.

100% agreed!! I've never had anything but trouble with Sonicwall
devices, however never have a problem with a $40 Linksys router. I
have anywhere from 4-6 different SIP phones connected to various
providers and servers and never have one way audio issues or incoming
call setup issues. It just works.

In fact, Sonicwall's are the only ones I've ever had an issue with,
and simply refuse to support them any longer.

Subject: Re: [on-asterisk] asterisk web GUI's et-al

Hi Claudia, I had the chance evaluate the following GUIs They are all are
free and can be downloaded as an ISO image.
They all format the HD, Load a version of Linux, Asterisk and the GUI. All
required loading feature modules/apps. (except Elastix which loads
everything) Most use FreePBX for setup but the rappers for this and other
applications differ in quality and layout.
As an example the Trixbox GUI pull-down menu is a bit psychotic
For a professional (NONE freeware) look and feel, Elastix is you best bet
but I still like CentPBX for it's Night transfer feature.

So here are my Asterisks* (out of 10)

AsteriskNOW *(5)
Pros: Nice clean GUI (not FreePBX) almost all the functionality need for a
general business PBX
Cons: No feature codes Ie. *72 (they may be there but I couldn't find them)

Trixbox *** (7)
Pros: The GUI Rapper is a bit sloppy (uses FreePBX)
Cons: Trixbox are changing their business model (personally I'm confused by
it) also they have not really done very much development recently.
Elastix (8)
Pros: This is a nice framework thats up and running in minutes with no
modules to load. Uses FreePBX but comes with Sugar CRM, a billing App. and a
Calling Card App.
Cons. Default user name and password are difficult to find.
CentPBX (8)
Pros: Uses FreePBX - Stable GUI framework with DAY /NIGHT Transfer feature
Cons: Has Frog motive on web page backgrounds.

I have only evaluated these Distro's on look and feel, they all use * 1.4 so
they will be as good as the release level.

 Claudia
I am quite interested in your evaluation of better GUI's for Asterisk.

I have also grown weary of Trixbox, so please go ahead... I am eagerly
waiting your final thoughts on the matter.

For those people who (like me) are getting fed up with Trixbox I am
doing some evaluations of various other management tools (GPL) I plan
to just give you a quick evaluation just to wet your appetite If you
have an interest in these evaluations give me some feedback on what
 you think.

The first one tried is CENTPBX
This uses the latest Freepbx GUI framework and can be generated for *
 1.2
 or 1.4
Has everything Trixbox has in terms of features, plus a very useful
 Night Answer feature (*28)

So far I like it because it runs 1.4 and has the complete feature set

Rating (4 asterisks out of 5)
