Re: [ath5k-devel] ath5k phy0: noise floor calibration timeout (2442MHz)
I forgot to mention that it reconnects every few minutes. 2010/5/19, Carlos Olmedo Escobar carlos.olmed...@gmail.com: I also have been experiencing this problem for the last couple of years (and always updating the kernel). Right now i'm using the latest kubuntu 10.04 kernel (2.6.32) with the following hardware: $ lspci -nn | grep Atheros 00:0a.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Atheros Communications Inc. Atheros AR5001X+ Wireless Network Adapter [168c:0013] (rev 01) And here are the error messages: $ dmesg | tail -n 5 [ 2677.806588] ath5k phy0: noise floor calibration timeout (2417MHz) [ 2678.426753] ath5k phy0: noise floor calibration timeout (2417MHz) [ 2688.172822] ath5k phy0: noise floor calibration timeout (2417MHz) [ 2698.207750] ath5k phy0: noise floor calibration timeout (2417MHz) [ 2708.242452] ath5k phy0: noise floor calibration timeout (2417MHz) Any idea of what is the problem? ___ ath5k-devel mailing list ath5k-devel@lists.ath5k.org https://lists.ath5k.org/mailman/listinfo/ath5k-devel

Felix's patch should make the timeouts not bork the hardware, but the code still can print this warning. Since it runs every 10s it's not surprising that there will be a cascade of them all 10s apart if the medium gets noisy. There are TODOs and FIXMEs all over this particular bit of code, it would be nice to address some of them. There's ANI still to be done, and IIRC the calibration procedure is a bit different between ath5k and the various HALs. -- Bob Copeland %% www.bobcopeland.com ___ ath5k-devel mailing list ath5k-devel@lists.ath5k.org https://lists.ath5k.org/mailman/listinfo/ath5k-devel
