Hi! Its almost ready!! Nagarjuna (Padma's owner) has made necessary modification in Padma to accommodate Bengali and it should be available from its official site soon.
Meanwhile, you can get it from http://www.imsc.res.in/~golam/padma-with-bn.xpi However please read this first :-) I am asking you to test above for two reasons. Firstly, you can let me know if I have missed any conjuncts or something else is wrong! Secondly and crucially, there is a rendering issue specially for ABP. So, if any expert on Firefox/ Unicode/Javascript can throw me some solution for it. In my understanding the problem is the following.... It seems ABP sometime uses three different fonts even to construct a single word. The first font provides all alphabets, some conjuncts and the second, third provide mainly conjuncts. This leads to matra for conjuncts (from 2nd and 3rd fonts) to not appear properly. It seems to me, this is happening because of the presence of <font></font> tag inside a single word. It essentially separates matras from the letter and so blocking proper rendering!! So...please feel free to post your comments, suggestions!!
