If you look at http://in.blackberry.com/support/downloads/im.jsp#tab_tab_ocs
you will see that OS v5 or higher is required.
For Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 or Microsoft Lync 2010
* BlackBerry Enterprise Server v5.0 Service Pack 3
* BlackBerry Enterprise Server Collaboration Service installed and configured
* BlackBerry Enterprise Server Collaboration Service enabled for end users
* BlackBerry Device Software v5.0 or higher
