Re: [blfs-dev] A significant BLFS milestone

Tonight BLFS has achieved a significant milestone. Since LFS-7.2 was
released on September 1st, all 625 (or so) packages in BLFS have been
updated. Most are marked as lfs72_checked, and only 9 are marked
 lfs72_built (but not tested).

In addition, all the tickets for package updates and other issues have
been addressed. Only two remain and they both await upstream.

To my knowledge, we have never been this complete since the start of the
project. Of course, the book is not perfect, but we will be able to
address new issues and package updates as they come up.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have
contributed to getting to this stage. Special thanks go to Armin,
Ragnar, Ken, DJ, and Chris for their contributions.

I am already finished compiling my desktop environment. About 116
packages for now. Without your work it would not be possible. Thanks.

Maybe this is the right moment for a BLFS 7.2 release?

That thought did occur to me, but I think the rate of development is too
fast. What we have now will be out of date soon as updates to packages
are released.

True, but it might be worth putting a copy of it into the museum ?

OK, I can make a tag and put a partial (html chunks) there.

I think it would be nice to announce it, or at least send to both
-support lists (I assume that users subscribed to -dev are also
subscribed to -support).
