Re: [Blind-Computing] BCC field not showing up
Mike, so are you saying that every time the compute is booted up, if my friend wants the bcc field available, she'll have to press alt b? With all headers checked, why doesn't it hold? Re: [Blind-Computing] Vinux
In the older version of the live CD I had of ubuntu itself, you had to do something during boot up to make it start talking, or alternatively once it's started, I think alt + F2 brings up a sort of run dialogue and typing in orca, and hitting enter made it start. The only real version have here now is a relatively recent version that can boot off a flash drive on some computers, and it does it all automatically. Hi Janie, 2 things come to mind here: 1. Is WLM set to block attachments? If so, this would account for the save attachments, being unavailable 2. Is the message open when you go to the menus to save the attachment? If not, this could also be the case, where save attachments, is not available. Re: [Blind-Computing] Desperately need Station Playlist Studio uninstall help
Hi Desiree. Thanks. That's exactly the info I needed. I did a clean uninstall now. Whew! I don't know why, but this demo for Station Playlist does not get along with my computer at all. I guess I'm just going to have to purchase the program outright and assume that I will like it. Others have said the demo is kind of flakey, and they don't have issues with the purchased program, so I'm probably OK doing that... would have preferred to try it out first, though. -Original Message- On Behalf Of Desiree Oudinot Hi, When you uninstall a program, often there are parts left over in the directory it installs in. I guess this is so that if people want to resurrect old settings, and install the program at a later time, they can do that. All you have to do is go into the directory where it was installed, usually C:\Program Files\whatever the name of the program is. If it's not under the name, in this case Station Playlist Studio,, it will be under the name of the company that created it. When you find that folder, just delete it, and try installing the program again. This is what's referred to as a clean install and can solve many problems with programs when they just stop working right for whatever reason. Hth, Desiree On 4/4/11, Chris Feist ccfe...@swbell.net wrote: Hi. I was trying out the demo for Station Playlist Studio V4.33. It did a bad install, or is buggy or something, because it wouldn't let me add my music library. Then it would lock up, etc. So, I chose to uninstall so I could reinstall it to see if that would help. However, when I uninstalled the program, I got this message: Station Playlist Studio uninstall complete. Some elements could not be removed. These can be removed manually. OK My question is how do I do that? The reason is because I did tried a reinstall without knowing how to do that, and it retained personal data from before, plus the same problem remained. I need to somehow wipe all the data from that program but don't know how. I'm thinking of just giving up on the demo and shelling out the money for the actual standard version outright. That or just giving up on this program all together. It's been a major headache. I hadn't been this discouraged about a computer program in a long time. Sorry about being a downer. I'm just really discouraged right now. Chris Feist - The one and only! [Blind-Computing] add/remove, response to Yvonne
Yvonne, Acrobat is a .pdf document reader. Although there are several .pdf readers, in my opinion, Acrobat is one of the best and there is a free version. I'm not sure how much you know about these specialized files so I'll give you a brief description. .PDF = PORTABLE DOCUMENT FILE: These files are excellent because they are stable in most operating systems. They can't be corrupted by accidental key strokes and can only be created by someone using the proprietary software made for that purpose. They take up less room than a standard document file. So, if you have a current version of Acrobat on your system, I recommend that you don't remove it. ADOBE AIR: this is a recent addition to the Adobe family and I have no idea what it does. However, it is, in the dormant state, a very tiny program and doesn't have to be removed. However, I believe that it only works on the Windows 7 platform, not in Windows XP. I hope this helps. But in general, neither of these programs are memory hogs and you don't need to be concerned about them if you are trying to free up memory on your system. Hi Arianna; With all headers checked, it should hold once it is toggled on or until it's toggled off. If it doesn't, I don't know why it won't. Hopefully, someone has a better answer than I. Take care. With all headers checked, why doesn't it hold? This keystroke will turn the BCC field on / off even with, All Headers checked. Hope this helps. Take care. Make sure all headers is checked and the bcc field should be there then This is for outlook express and should work. I just tested it. -Original Message- From: blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Arianna Sent: Tuesday, April 05, 2011 12:39 PM To: blind-computing@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] BCC field not showing up Yes, that's correct.
