Re: [Blind-Computing] I'm looking for the most accessible DVD playing software
I like VLC Player because you can navigate around the DVD, such as go to different chapters of the DVD. Unfortunately, the titles do not get dynamically loaded into the menus, instead they are just generic. There are many hotkeys and they can, with some patience, be reassigned. All DVD Player software is enhanced since the Convenience OCR was introduced in JAWS 13.Using this feature, it should be possible to read and interact with the DVD on-screen menus! You will need to perform the OCR after each sinulated mouse click. *Don Marang* Vinux Package Development Coordinator - vinuxproject.org http://www.vinuxproject.org/ On 11/23/2012 7:13 PM, Randy Tijerina wrote: I mean special features on a dvd. such as intervies, extras gags that sort of thing. Oh BOY! Was I ever off the mark on this one -- my apologies. I remember doing that in Outlook Express and it was a really neat feature. I used to invite a firend to breakfast via e-mail (outlook express) and I'd go to the ATT Naturally Speaking demo page and create a WAV with a British accent with all sorts of screwy comments about joining me for breakfast -- comments as if it were a butler making the invitation! She always got a huge kick out of that. What I remember about using Outlook Express to do ths was to use the FILE menu item New Message Using . . . Mr. Holland, In Outlook Express you can imbed a sound file into an email. What that will do is for instance, let's say it's your birthday I want to send you an email for your birthday. Well, I can imbed a birthday song into the email if your email client allows this, the birthday song will play when you open the email to read it. This isn't an attachment but imbedded. But, this will only work if you are reading your email in HTMl. If you take 1 of these emails with an imbedded sound reading it in HTML change the setting to read in plain text, this imbedded sound will not play but, the imbedded sound in the HTMl email now becomes an attachment in the plain text email. [Blind-Computing] INTERNET EXPLORER PROBLEM, I BELIEVE
At work, we're using Jaws 12, Windows XP Professional and Explorer 7. Suddenly, the system is creating multiple windows without being prompted to do so. In addition, the Alt F4 key doesn't seem to work so the only way to delete them is by using the Alt Space menu and typing the letter C. But as soon as they're removed, they come back. At one point, the system had generated 4 duplicates of the same internet screen. We work on www.fedex.com and on the Locations page. Can anyone offer a possible solution to this issue. I am not able to use the system as it is now. 1.Should I try to download a clean version of Internet Explorer, delete the original one and re-install? 2. Why, without warning, is the Alt F4 refusing to close any programs? 3. Could anything else be causing this problem? Thanks for any help in advance. Mr. Holland, They are discussing adding or embedding a sound file into an e-mail message. This is something which was very popular some time ago. I would open an e-mail about a trip on a train and hear the train itself. At the time, I was using Outlook Express. Hi Personally, I have had very little luck with speech to text programs. However, technology advances so quickly that what I tried 3 years ago is out of date information for the current state of things. The one thing I would suggest is using earphones. It sounds odd, but because jaws is speaking at the same time as you are trying to dictate, the computer can actually be trying to convert what jaws is saying to text. Smile. Just my experience.
