Re: [Blind-Computing] Importing mail from Outlook express
hello there; well, the easiest way I think you could do this is; 1, if you had outlook 2010 on your xp machine, you could first import the outlook express files into outlook 2010, now, you could take the outlook2010 pst file, over to your new machine. -Original Message- From: Blind-Computing [mailto:blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of David Ferrin Sent: Tuesday, January 8, 2013 3:37 PM To: blind-computing@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Importing mail from Outlook express My information is no you can't do that. [Blind-Computing] protection error on a pdf file

[Blind-Computing] Firefox Full Version vs. Firefox Portable Version
What is the difference between the full version of Firefox and the portable version of Firefox? Does the portable version have the same features and options as the full version? The reason I'm asking is that I already have the full version of Firefox 3.6 installed on my computer and just downloaded and saved the portable version of Firefox 18.0 which I want to install so that I can keep Firefox 3.6 full intact in case I encounter any accessibility or JAWS 9 compatibility issues with Firefox 18.0 portable. This way, if Firefox 18.0 doesn't work out, I can still continue to use Firefox 3.6 full without having to go through the hassle of reinstalling it from scratch. Thanks for any feedback. Hi Ken, You didn't say what version of Adobe you are using, but what you need to do is turn off protected mode. Look in the preferences, under, GENERAL, or Security Enhanced. Hi Beero, You can try this program called Recuva. This free program will recover files accidently deleted from your computer. I've never used it so hopefully other list members can give you tips on using it. http://www.jaws-users.com/programs/Utilities/recuva138.exe Hope this helps. Take care. um I've used it for my emails one time, it didn't like give them all back in a readerable format. I saved what I could, but wasn't much. Don't want to discourage anyone from using it though, my track record with operating system tend to be someone as jerky as this cursor problem this user is having. - Original Message - From: Mike B. mb69ma...@charter.net To: blind-computing@jaws-users.com Sent: Wednesday, January 09, 2013 4:51 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] data lost, urgent please Hi Beero, You can try this program called Recuva. [Blind-Computing] Updating drivers in DVD burners
i have a DVD burner in my computer. I don't know if burner is the right word. Anyway, when I put a DVD in and push it in, it says, 'no disk. Please insert a disk.: Yet, when I put a music disk in, it recognizes it and starts playing it. i thought maybe drivers needed updating in it. my son hooked it up for me. Anyway, could someone tell me step by step how to find the drivers for this DVD writer and how to update them? I know you get the specific name of the driver. Is there a website that can find all that information? I was told how to do it a long time ago but I don't remember how. help is much appreciated. Thanks much.
