[Blind-Computing] Page announcement PDF files
Hello, Can someone kindly guide me on the procedure that will allow JAWS to announce the page numbers in a PDF file. I try the key combination Insert + Page Down but this does not work everytime. In some PDF files it tells me 3/46 when I press this key combination, meaning that I am on the 3rd page in the PDF file and the file has a total of 46 pages. I am using JAWS 14 on a windows xp machine. The adobe reader version is 10. Mujtaba Merchant Bangalore, India Motivation is what gets you started. Re: [Blind-Computing] switch win. live mail default account
In the list of accounts go to the account you want to set as default. When it is highlighted hit the application key. Down arrow until you see set as default and check it. [Blind-Computing] Turning On and Off History in IE9
Good Afternoon: I think I deliberately turned on browsing history in IE9 the other day on my 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium machine and thought I got it off again, but it seems to have cropped up again and doesn't want to go away. I thought it was Control-H to turn it on and Control-H as a toggle to turn it off. JAWS 14 and Window-Eyes 7.5.4.1 are both on the machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Re: [Blind-Computing] alphabetical order of emails
Hi Dan, Below are a few ways for sorting email with WLM, hope this gets you going: - Original Message - From: John Justice john_just...@verizon.net CAVEAT:! If the lady is using Windows Live Mail, the location of the Sort By is completely different. For those who might like to have their messages sorted in ascending order with the most recent messages on the bottom, while using Windows Live Mail, follow the next steps. 1. Use Alt V to access the View menu. 2. Press Enter on the choice called Arrange By. 3. As a default, the date is checked as the primary sort parameter. Move down the list until you hear Custom and press enter again. 4. There are many ways that you can sort or arrange your messages but I recommend caution here. There are settings you can choose which will close Jaws down so be careful. Tab to the Sort By option and press Enter. You'll land on another field so tab again until you hear Sort Descending, 1 of 2 or something like that. Press your up arrow until you hear Sort Ascending and press the space bar to confirm. 5. Tab to the Okay button and press Enter. 6. that will take you out of that particular section but not out of the Arrange By option. 7. Tab again until you hear another Okay and press Enter. WARNING! Do not press enter on the field indicating Reset current view. that option will bring everything back to the factory defaults and you'll have to start all over again. That option is very helpful though if you get into a bind and your Windows Live Mail is acting weird. Find that option and click on it. All of your settings will be restored to the factory defaults. I can't emphasize this enough, friends. Some of those settings can make a mess of how Jaws reads e-mail so be careful. John Justice From: lmorris1...@gmail.com If you hit the alt key on an unopen message it will bring up the menu ribbon you need to find arrange by submenu. 1. Hit alt and right arrow over until you hear view tab. 2. down arrow until you hear arrangement submenu 3. Right arrow to open the arrangement submenu 4. Down arrow until you hear sort by drop down and hit enter. There are several items you can view to check or uncheck including date by conversation and uncheck this if it is checked. LMorris From: David Hello there; While your in the WLM inbox, Press, Alt+v/s/b, Now you can check or uncheck the various items. David Take care.
