Hi all,

On my Windows7 Pro machine running J13 14, I have the shortcut keystroke,
control, shift, + N, assigned to Notepad. Well, this keystroke works just
fine in Notepad but, I can't find the keystroke in any of Notepad's

start menu shortcuts, All Programs / Accessories / Notepad. I just
can't find it anywhere! Where else should I look for this shortcut

2013-02-10 Thread Bob W
Hi Mike.
There use to be a free program called Hotkey Detective which would show
where all your hotkeys were. Maybe, if you can find it, that would help.

I now use AutoHotKey to assign keys, which works differently, and would
drive Hotkey Detective crazy.

Hope this helps.

Install a little utility called Hot Key Detective, which will list all the
hot keys on your computer. You can find it on the JAWS Users programs page.
If you have a hot key for Notepad, it should be listed. You can then focus
on it an tab to the change key button which will allow you to delete or
modify it.

Okay, problem solved! I was running a program called Classic Shell but,
once I turned it off I was able to access the default Win7 start menu,
that is where the shortcut keystroke was assigned. In the Notepad
properties. I deleted it everything is good. Thanks again for all your

On the pages in a word document, if you open it in MS word, do a JAWS
key + page down, this should tell you the number of pages in the document.

Re: [Blind-Computing] question about eBay page

2013-02-10 Thread Eleni Vamvakari
My problem with Ebay is that they got rid of the combo box which
allows us to sort things. Furthermore, the areas which used to be
links, such as for location, buy it now only, and the various
categories which show up when I search for something, are no longer
read as links, but as some kind of inaccessible links. I also can't
use the text boxes for price. They give me their own range, and I
can't change them. This has been going on for over a month now. It
used to work with Firefox, then stopped. So I used Internet Explorer.
But that doesn't work now, and neither does Comet Bird. About three
days ago, I discovered that I was now able to use the price text
boxes, but I haven't tried the other things. This happened on
multiple computers, so I'm sure it's not a virus. I'm using Windows
XP and the latest version of NVDA. When I mentioned this to other
blind people, none of them had this problem. What is going on here
and has it been fixed? Is there a way to get the regular settings
back?
