[Blind-Computing] tab key and task bar

2013-03-15 Thread Tom Clary
i'm on my dad's pc, windows xp, jaws 8, and he recently had a virus
removed by his pc tech, but now when i try to use the tab key to move
through the task bar, start to the clock, his pc will only go to the
start tab, and each tab at that point, does what arrows usually do,
but it doesn't go further then start, and it's icons. my big trouble
is that i can't close jaws now when i'm done. does any one know how to
correct this tab key problem?

Re: [Blind-Computing] Using Windows XP, trying to email shortcut files with Outlook2007

2013-03-15 Thread Paul Magill
Thank you, Rick Inthane.

Because the files are small, I never even thought of zipping them.

For some reason, likely my lack of knowledge, I was unable to zip just the
shortcut files, but I placed them in a temp folder, zipped the folder.

Job done thanks to you two...

Regards,
Paul from Australia

hmmm, I used to mail a application and a set of pre made shortcuts to it in
two zip files in a self-extracting zip file, done with WinZip and never had
a problem with it

I also just tested making and sending shortcuts and in a WinZip zip file it
was movable while I couldn't even make a 7zip file with the shortcut, it
refused to do the job.

guess I just found my first flaw with 7zip

Thank you very much in advance.

Re: [Blind-Computing] Times in Excel

2013-03-15 Thread Annette Carr
Of course there are always multiple ways to accomplish things in Excel, so
here is one option.

If you want your times in column A to increase by 15 minutes for each entry
in that column, place your starting time in cell A5.
Identify a cell to contain the time increment that you want to increase each
entry by. In your example it is 15 minutes. Let's pick B2 for this, so
enter 0:15 in that cell. Note 1, if you want to increase your times by 90
minutes, you will need to enter 1:30. Note 2, you can place this cell
anywhere in the sheet you want so that it does not have to be so visible.
In cell A6 enter the following formula:
$B$2+A5
Note 3, the use of the dollar signs. By placing a dollar sign before a row
or column reference, it will prevent that value from changing when you copy
and paste the formula into another cell.
Now copy A6 and paste it into cell A7, and each of the cells where you want
the time to increase by 15 minutes from the time above it.
If at some point you want to generate a list of times that increase by a
different value, you just need to change the value in B2, or where ever you
have that value hiding.
Note 4, your times will be displayed in 24 hours format. I do not know how
to accomplish this task and have the times displayed in 12 hour format.

HTH,
Annette

Re: [Blind-Computing] Times in Excel

2013-03-15 Thread Ariel

Hi,
Using Annette's examples, place your starting time in column A, A5.
Next write 0:15 in B2. Now go to A6, press equals, type $B$2+A5. If you
want to auto-fill the other cells, select from A6, down to the cell you
want, and press control D. I hope this helps. Thanks,

A
