Interesting dave. I am using winamp and I never thought of changing the output. That way I could get rid of sound switch but you are exactly right jaws goes along for the ride. My guess is that this program you are using actually changes your default sound card on the fly and JAWS just seems to go along for the ride for reasons it only knows. Now for example if you are using win amp and I believe media player has the same feature available you can change the sound card it uses itself. I'm thinking if you were to do that then JAWS would stay right where it is supposed to be without a care in the world so to speak. This is a work around but I am certain it will do what you want. Just start your player of choice, change your output and with win amp at least not sure about media player since it has been so long you might have to close out and then open the program again for it to play using the alternative card. [Blind-Computing] USB sound
I need some advice on a few things. I want to put all of my music on the computer. Windows 7 64 bit using jaws or NVDA. Will use windows media player unless any one has a better player in mind. I am going to buy a USB wireless transmitter and send the music down stairs to my stereo. The question is, when I plug in the USB transmitter will the sound stop coming out of my computer speakers. I have a dell computer and the speakers and microphone connect to the built in sound card. It is a Conexant HD Audio. I want to have sound on my computer so I can hear jaws when I am using the computer but when I go down to cook and have dinner want to have the music come out down stairs from the stereo. Has anyone done this? If so what player did you use to transfer the music to mp3 format and how did you deal with the sound situation. thanks For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
