If you are using Windows XP, use the user mode virtual driver. This only
captures sound from an application that is using the driver. The driver
will work in Windows Vista and Windows 7, but you cannot use it as a
system device simply because these operating systems do not support
legasy hardware being used as system devices. For live audio, you could
use Total Recorder's background recording feature. This records the
stream silently without using your sound card.
