Any reason for what appears to be a lot of 335's for sale (Craig's list)
and at what appear to be good prices. Is it the oil temp issue or the
economy in general? Anyone hear of problems with the coupe?

Also there's a new factory video out on the E90's being built. Not as good
as the one I posted a few years ago (not as much detail or completeness)
but interesting nontheless.

The same story seems to be in various places. This one must be better
since it's in German:
http://www.automobilwoche.de/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080318/DPA/803180325

BMW wants fewer emissions? How about building lighter cars? Dan Neil
let BMW have it today in his column. After reading that, I realized
that the 1-series is only 350 pounds lighter than our 17 foot long
Buick Park Avenue. omgwtfbmw?

 Back to basics, I say:

My son is going to turbo his E36 over his spring break.
Two questions:

1. Anyone have a recommendation(s) of very good to excellent torque
wrenches? About time I went up from my Craftsman (80's vintage).

2. Is the E36 2.8L motor a "wet" head? I'm assuming that means the head
bolts intrude into the water jackets. If so, what if any sealant is
recommended if converting to ARP studs?

3. Are the ARP studs just put in hand tight? If so, how hand tight? I have
a pretty good grip (yea yea, .................perverts).

Thanks all,
Kevin

Get a good torque wrench. Snap-ons are the best. Get it calibrated. Have
it checked post calibration. I use a NLA strain gauge from Craftsman. Self
calibrates everytime you turn it on.

I do not think it is a wet head.

Call ARP and ask them. I don't remember off the top of my head.

Story - when we rebuilt my motor we get snapping the arp studs. We accused
ARP for crappy product since the torque wrench had just come back from the
calibrators since I insisted on getting it calibrated before we finished the
engine. ARP did an analysis on the broken studs and said they were to spec.

Torque wrench calibration was off by 50%

This is why I only use bendy beam torque wrenches.

Turbo E36? How are the fuel enrichment, ignition retard and lowering of
compression ratio being handled? These are the things that kill turbo
motors.
