[board-discuss] Self nomination for Membership Committee: Gabriele Ponzo
Dear Members & Board of Directors of The Document Foundation, the present message is to express my intention to candidate myself to the next elections for the Membership Committee. Who am I: I'm italian living in Terni, in the southern part of Umbria, the region called "the heart of Italy". My daily job (as self employed) spans from IT systems administrator to (huge) technical manuals editing (with LibreOffice) and SCADA (industrial supervision software) development. I joined officially our community in 2009, when OpenOffice.org international conference was held in Orvieto, a town in my city's province. From that moment on, I've always slightly increased my involvement in the project and in its community. My most contributions have been helping users in Mailing Lists, dubbing LO official videos in italian (as I'm a professional speaker too), giving lectures, some translations and QA. Why I'm nominating myself for the next MC: I'm part of the MC from 2014 and especially in recent turns I've been committed to extend its role from merely approve or reject memberships to a wider activity, including the recruitment of new members, by giving several lectures at various events to appeal people to join our projects (LO an DLP) and possibly become members, as well as helping in the organization and moderation of online meetings with Native Language Projects, together with my colleagues of MC. -- 75 words statement -- My intention for the next term is to proceed with these attempts to lower the gap between the local communities and TDF, in order to let them be heard and better represented, together with the research for schools and universities collaborations to bring new pupils into our projects. [board-discuss] Self nomination for Membership Committee: Shinji Enoki
Dear members & Board of Directors of The Document Foundation, I'm Shinji Enoki. I live in Nishinomiya, Japan. As a freelance, I also work on a support business for LibreOffice. I served as Membership Committee Deputy for two years from 2020. The Membership Committee is an important part of TDF's operation and I would like to be part of it next MC as well. I supported a board election interview event and MC feedback meetup for the Japanese community. On the other hand, I have not been successful in increasing his TDF membership in Japan and Asia. I want to challenge that in the next MC. And Through the activities of the MC, I would like to play a role in connecting the global community and local communities, mainly in Asia. As a frequent join of Japanese and Asian Open Souce events, I have many opportunities to meet LibreOffice contributors, other OSS contributors, and new contributors. For me, it's relatively easy to contact them. I started in 2008, OpenOffice.org era. I was the QA Coordinator for the OpenOffice.org Japanese Project. And I joined in the found of the LibreOffice Japanese team. My main activity is community organizing for LibreOffice Japanese community and event organizing in Japan. Those are mostly online events for the past two and a half years. I have been doing a few translation and QA tasks as well. I am also a bit active in several other open source and open data communities. Full name: Shinji Enoki Email address: shinji.en...@libreoffice.org Corporate affiliation: None I and iCraft Corp. are working together to develop a LibreOffice support business in Japan. And iCraft and Collabora are business partners. I and iCraft are on an equal footing and are not unilaterally bound by decision making. And I always make decisions that prioritize community interests. I will provide information on all future changes as soon as possible. ~75 words candidacy text: Through MC activities, I would like to play a part in the smooth running of TDF membership. Also I would also like to connect global and local communities, find ways to support local communities, and contact potential TDF members. [board-discuss] Self nomination for Membership Committee: Uwe Altmann
Hi My name is Uwe Altmann, I’m 65 years old male, married and living in Saarbücken (Germany) direct by the french border. I’m self-employed, bur mostly preparing my retirement. I joined the (then) OpenOffice community around 2004. Mostly in marketing activities as helping at CeBit fair as long as we had a booth there. Besides being engaged in German community I did some QA and documentation on Macs. In the past few years I helped the TDF to get GDPR compliant an developing the idea of a business unit. In “real live” - with an completed education as psychologist and statistician - I did mostly data analysis, statistics and consulting, both public administration and charitable organizations. So thus I‘m kind of experienced in German charity laws, managing organizations as well as internal revenue code, especially concerning charitable organizations. I’m not a coder anymore – my last programming experience lies back in the early 90ies (at least there is some). But besides this my last payed job was requirements engineer and managing a team of developers. The spare time I won by reducing my business activities I use to do more for the TDF. Strengthen the community is one of my favorite goals. I may as well help in compliance with the German charity regulations and in organizational matters. So I was elected in 2020 for the first time into the MC as a substitute member. Since then, I developed the specification and served as the product owner of the new Software to manage applications, which hopefully will be productive in the next few weeks. Full name: Uwe Altmann Email address: u...@libreoffice.org Corporate affiliation: None ~75 words candidacy text: I, Uwe Altmann, candidate for a seat in the membership committee of The Document Foundation. I have been around with the project and TDF since the early beginning, mostly in German community and QA for the Mac version. Actually I’m more in organizational matters.
