[cayugabirds-l] scoter sp @ Stewart Park
Friday (8 Jan) I saw a female surf/white-winged scoter off Stewart Park from the tennis courts, but was unable to pin down the ID due to brief poor looks with waves, diving, heat shimmer, wind, snow, etc. Sorry for the late and vague report. There were hunters decoys at the southeast corner of the lake, and later 2 sailkiters on the ice. --Dave Nutte -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES Archives: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/cayugabirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
Re: [cayugabirds-l] Carolina Wren!
I was surprised this week to see a Carolina Wren had taken up residence in my garage. It has the advantage of no door and only a few feet from the feeders, good living. Gary bilba...@pop.lightlink.com wrote: I have had at least one and perhaps 2 Carolina Wrens (I have heard two singing back and forth once, a few weeks ago) at my feeders since before Thanksgiving. They like the sunflower seeds, but especially take advantage of the suet I have out. I'm in Caroline Center at about 1640 Ft.
