Still have them at my place in West Danby. The first one to the feeder this 
morning was an adult male at 6:59 AM, 48 degrees F.  Yesterday morning I found 
a sub-adult male inside my car, dead. Apparently it had flown in the previous 
evening while the tailgate was open, and got trapped inside when that was 
closed for the night.

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)

 9/4: COMMON NIGHTHAWK and SANDHILL CRANE were seen at Marten’s Tract.
 9/5: 21 species of shorebirds including BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER, AMERICAN 
GOLDEN PLOVER, RED-NECKED PHALAROPE, WILSON’S PHALAROPE and RUDDY TURNSTONE 
were seen at Knox-Marsellus Marsh.
 9/6: A drop to 13 species of shorebirds at Knox-Marsellus Marsh included 
both the aforementioned Phalaropes and STILT SANDPIPER.
 9/7: A YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER was seen at South Spring Pond.
 9/8: 2 AMERICAN AVOCETS were seen at Knox-Marsellus Marsh. They were both 
relocated the next day.


Oswego County

 9/3: 11 RED CROSSBILLS were seen flying over Derby Hill. Also noted were 
nine species of Raptor.
 9/5: A SWAINSON’S THRUSH was spotted in Mexico. An OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER 
was seen on Depot Road in West Monroe.
 9/7: 7 species of Warbler were seen in Hastings along with a SWAINSON’S 
THRUSH. A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL  and 3 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were seen in Oswego.
 9/8: 9 species of Warbler were seen at a residence in Mexico.


Onondaga County


 9/4: An AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER was seen from the north end of the 
Creekwalk on Onondaga Lake . It was relocated the next day.
 9/9: A possible SWAINSON’S HAWK was seen in the town of Clay.


Madison County


 9/7: A PINE SISKIN has been frequenting a feeder near Sheds.
