Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)






     1123: A GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was seen in Knox-Marsellus Marsh.

     11/24: A CATTLE EGRET was seen in flight on Co. Rt. 90 north of Rt. 20.

     11/26: A SNOWY OWL was seen on the Wildlife Drive.







Cayuga County






     11/24: A SNOWY OWL was seen at Fair Have State Park. A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK 
was seen at the Sterling Nature Center.







Onondaga County






     11/23: 3 BLACK VULTURES were found at  Jamesville Beach Park.

     11/25: A BLACK SCOTER was seen on Onondaga Lake from the Marshy Spits area 
on the west shore. 5 RED CROSSBILLS were seen at Highland Forest State Park.

     11/28: 90 SANDHILL CRANES were seen at Dewitt Marsh.







Oswego County






     11/22: At Derby Hill the following species were seen. PARASITIC JAEGER, 
RAZORBILL, BLACK-LEGGED KITTYWAKE, LITTLE GULL, LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL and a 
very late AMERICAN REDSTART.

     11/23: A BLACK SCOTER and a LAPLAND LONGSPUR were found at Derby Hill. An 
ICELAND GULL was seen at Lock 2 in Fulton.

     11/24: A GLAUCOUS GULL was found at Sandy Pond Outlet on Lake Ontario.

     11/25: 4 CACKLING GEESE and 4 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS were seen at Lake 
Neatahwanta in Fulton.

     11/26: 3 PURPLE SANDPIPERS, 6 BLACK LEGGED KITTYWAKES and 4 LITTLE GULLS 
were seen at Derby Hill. A lingering FOX SPARROW was st a residence in Hastings 
on Baum Road.

     11/27: A PARASITIC JAEGER and a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL were seen at 
Derby Hill.

     1/28: A SNOWY OWL was seen at Breitbeck Park in Oswego.







Madison County






     11/25: A GLAUCOUS GULL was seen at the Madison County Landfill south of 
Canastota. 

     11/26: An ICELAND GULL was seen at the Madison County Landfill.

     11/28: An EASTERN PHOEBE continues to hold on on Borden Road in Earlville.







Oneida County






     11/25: A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was found at Sylvan Beach on Oneida Lake.

     11/28: A BLACK SCOTER was seen on Hinckley Reservoir.

     11/29: 2 BLACK SCOTERS were seen on Oneida Lake from Lakeshore Drive.







Herkimer County






     11/24:  A RED CROSSBILL was seen on Bear lake Trail east of McKeever.

     11/27: A NORTHERN SHRIKE was see near Salisbury Corners.

A neighbor reported a snowy owl up the road from us, but we haven't looked for 
it yet.
