RE: [cayugabirds-l] Snow geese

I didn't see thousands but saw a wedge of about 100 snow geese over Sheffield 
Road, Ithaca/Enfield townline, Tompkins County on Sunday morning.

Thousands upon thousands of Snow Geese are flying high over head currently in 
Geneva. I can barely make them out as a i’m losing light and it’s snowing, but 
I can definitely hear them. It seems like many have stuck around this year! 
Hopefully the March migration is as fantastic as always.

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)






      1/28: A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK and a CACKLING GOOSE were seen at Carncross 
Road.







Cayuga County






     1/30: A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen at Myers Road east of Meridian.







Oswego County






     RUDDY DUCKS continue at Breitbeck Park in Oswego, ane at the Rt. 57 pull 
off south of Oswego.

     1/25: 3 PINE SISKINS were at a feeder in Minetto.

     1/27: An ICELAND GULL was seen at the River in Phoenix.

     1/28: 5 EVENING GROSBEAKS were at a feeder on Stone Hill Road near Amboy.

     1/29: A RED-THROATED LOON was seen in Oswego Harbor.

     1/30: A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen near the dam in Phoenix. 2 
ICELAND GULLS were seen at Lock 2 south of Oswego. 3RED-THROATED LOONS were 
seen in Oswego Harbor.







Onondaga County






     RUDDY DUCKS and AMERICAN WIGEON were seen throughout the week from the 
west Shore trail of Onondaga Lake. A NORTHERN SHRIKE continues to be seen from 
Smokey Hollow Road on the Three Rivers WMA north of Baldwinsville.

     1/24: WOOD DUCKS continue at the Rand Tract near Seneca Turnpike in 
Syracuse.

     1/26: A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen on Laird Road off of Rt. 31 west of 
Baldwinsville.

     







Madison County






     1/24: A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL and an ICELAND GULL were seen from 
Hardwood Island Road north of Canastota. A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was seen on Cody 
Road south of Canastota.

     1/27: 45 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen at at feeder on Carpenter Road east 
of Sheds.

     1/29: 72 EVENING GROSBEAKS continue at a feederon Hawes Road on Eaton 
Reservoir.







Oneida County






     1/27: A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen on Rt.31 west of Rt. 46.

     1/29: A KILLDEER was found on Jug Point Roadeast of Verona Beach State 
Park.







Herkimer County






     1/27: A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen on Stueben Road north of Utica.

     1/18: A PINE SISKIN was at a feeder in Dolgeville.

     1/29: 6 EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen inSalisbury north of Dolgeville.
