[cayugabirds-l] Nest box
I went down Armitage Rd. looking for wood ducks. No luck. I looked for the Prothonotary Warbler’s nest box and could not find it. It’s gone. Does anyone know what’s going on? Is it going to be replaced? I’d hate to see them return to no nest box. [cayugabirds-l] Nest box guards
Hello, Apologies if this question has appeared on this list before. Have folks been successful with guards attached to the opening of nest boxes, to prevent raccoons and other animals from disturbing nests? If so, what type/brand would you recommend? Many thanks, Patrizia -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/cayugabirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
[cayugabirds-l] Nest box trails report
Hi all. Wow, we got all the boxes up at Salt Point and 10 of the bluebird boxes at the Lansing Center Trail. That is amazing! So...if anyone wants to come back in the morning to help put up the last 5 bluebird boxes and possibly the screech owl box on the Short Line Spur, we are meeting again at 9 amx-apple-data-detectors://0. Something amazing happened at Salt Point as we were packing up to leave...I spotted several male bluebirds sitting on top of the bluebird boxes and looking in the holes Lots of bluebirds were in the field. I have never seen a bluebird at Salt Point before. It's incredible! Thanks again to everyone who came!
