16 Feb. 2023 This afternoon daughter Becky & I saw great, strung out flocks of
snows flying north in both areas. The flocks over the visitor's center appeared
to be too high to be heading to "the muck" but I didn't have time to head that
way to check. Becky sees flights over her place on Ridge Rd., 1 3/4 mi. east of
Union Springs & also many in nearby farm fields.
Also saw a mixed flock of 'black birds' heading to refuge trees to roost. Best
sighting was a female harrier hunting over a field just west of the
intersection of 318 & 5 & 20.
