Building a simple test case in this situation is as simple as
narrowing down the steps and changes leading to the problem. Your
refusal to provide relevant information probably wasted more time than
anything else. One is almost tempted to think this was an elaborate
 troll :D

I was tempted to read his website. He is a 75 yr old man who is deaf and blind.

 Hi,
does anybody know about a duplex (color) printer with linux support?

Brother MFC-9840CDW [it even supports IPv6]

I recommend the Brother network series.
The unix support and networking functions are excellent.

Been recently using a color duplex, but also have been using bw laser
with Linux for 5+ yrs.

 Hello,guys:

I've seen several suggestions for alternatives to exchange for mail,
 which I will be trying.

My question is, does anyone know of any good open source shared calendar
 systems?

I know its not open source, but have you considered Google Apps for
Domains? You can get your own gmail/calendar/docs/sites/chat on your
own domain.com address for up to 50 people for free. As well as
groups/contact sharing/calendar sharing, etc.

I originally tried it out just for testing, but I find it much
easier/faster than my managing my own hosting.

I suggest sge. It doesn't have a web interface, but a GUI. Or torque.

Looks like most of the robust tools are Java based, including Hudson.

I also found the following:

non free:

Thanks for all the ideas. I will have to evaluate each option.

[CentOS] [OT] Batch Job Scheduler/Manager

2009-06-30 Thread Mauriat Miranda
Hi. Looking for suggestions/ideas.

I have pretty loose requirements at this point, but I am looking for a
tool (or set of tools) where I can automate and control a large group
of tasks by a basic web front end.

I have a series of scripts that do various conversions of data or
media, as well as analysis and I want to be able check their status,
see if they completed or if they failed. Then possibly react or setup
alternate jobs if they passed or failed, etc. - some basic logic.

I want to avoid building something for this. But if there already
exists a tool(s) that I could tailor that would be good too.
Something Perl would be perfect, but PHP could be made to work. Free
or not would be acceptable.

Thanks for any ideas.

There is this, Java based but can run scripts in any language:
 http://www.sos-berlin.com/modules/cjaycontent/index.php?id=62page=osource_scheduler_introduction_en.htm

YMMV - it's not exactly simple or easy to set up or understand
 (documentation is a bit disorganized).

Thanks that looks promising.

I also found the following, but it seems more coding involvement than
I would like:
http://batchserver.sourceforge.net/
