Re: [CentOS] EL 6 rollout strategies? (Scientific Linux)
Do you expect the C6.0 - C6.1 differences to be more complex, or less complex than the C5.5 - C5.6 differences ? And given that C5.6 took 3 months, are there any reasons why C6.1 would take no more than 1 month ? Get over yourself Dag ... for goodness sake. Why? seems like a valid point to me. ___ CentOS mailing list CentOS@centos.org http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos

yes cool isn't it, that webpage is updated! actually that's what makes it useful. besides, read the title text on that page again: QA dates are tentative dates for internal planning only. These are not official release dates, but only a guide for the QA team. All target dates are subject to change. Which makes it pretty useless. -- No trees were killed to send this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced. Re: [CentOS] CentOS 6 Progress as per qaweb
Of course, this time estimate is my guess and you should wait for official estimate from someone from dev team. Sorry my mistake. They will be available for download in 4-5 days, sync to external mirrors should be finished in 2 days. Dates changed again http://qaweb.dev.centos.org/qa/calendar Seems to happen every Sunday :) ___ CentOS mailing list CentOS@centos.org http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos
Re: [CentOS] CentOS 6 Progress as per qaweb
Not much of a difference this time, still good for download in 4~5 days. This time it looks more like adjusting based on known time needed to push to external servers. Although I'm quite curious, how is the push done? Given the requirements of 25Mbits for donated servers, it would take less than an hour to push through even 10GB worth of DVD + CDs. It seems quite odd that it takes 2~3 days just to push to internal mirrors. Any public mirrors have this yet? ___ CentOS mailing list CentOS@centos.org http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos

Re: [CentOS] Where can I download centos 6
Reading QA web site, fair estimate is it will take 2-3 days for us to be able to download, since there where last minute changes to some packages and sync to external mirrors should have started last night and should last for 2-3 days. Keep in mind this is only my estimate. right, there is a website with status updates, and Jeff and others are doing a great job at keeping it up to date (thanks!). http://qaweb.dev.centos.org/qa/dashboard This is what people were asking for, now we have it! So please, if you want to know about C6 go visit the website, but don't post here... thank you. Bollocks. this IS the only place to post to, as information is sorely lacking. Really this whole release cycle has been a complete balls up. the little information we have such as http://qaweb.dev.centos.org/qa has no history, and changed every week. now the you have posted some new information at http://qaweb.dev.centos.org/qa/dashboard of which I, and I would say most others, were unaware of, which implies that the release has been delayed yet again. For goodness sake I hope that the next release will be more transparent and professional. It really does not look good for CentOS and open source in general. . ___ CentOS mailing list CentOS@centos.org http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos
Re: [CentOS] Where can I download centos 6
since you replied to my post I guess you're talking to me? If so you're wrong: *I* didn't post anything on qaweb.dev.centos.org , I'm just a centos user that went looking for information on that site, clicked on a few links/tabs and found the information I was looking for. Wasn't too hard, no neuronal overheat to report. But I still posted the direct link, so you and others can follow the progress without posting here every other day.
