Re: Adobe ColdFusion Blog futzed?
Is it just me or is the Adobe ColdFusion Blog (http://blogs.coldfusion.com/) messed up? I go to the home page and there are only two entries, one for Jan 1, 2015, and another for December 18, 2014. Nothing else, not even links to go anywhere else. If I go to one of those two pages I then get the right sidebar with links to other pages and sections, but even if I go to the archives for each month they are incomplete. It's working fine for me (Chrome on Windows 7, no proxy server). Re: Moving to Railo
Well, not so painless, actually, as one of my applications runs 220 websites and that goes beyond Tomcat's ability with a single connector or server.xml, so I decided to try it under Apache, and am currently having rewriteRules problems. But they'll get solved. I'm 95% of the way there. Beyond that, Railo does seem to be much faster, and there were very few code changes to be made. Mostly the fact that any database result set with a field named #url# needed to be scoped by the query name; Railo doesn't support the interpolation attribute for cfimage; and there's no cftextarea tag. It only took a few minutes to find them all through trial and error and fix them. Thanks, Mik At 04:54 PM 12/23/2014, Jon Clausen wrote: The only thing I can add, other than that Railo is excellent, is that youll want to take a close look at the compatibility section (http://www.getrailo.org/index.cfm/documentation/compatibility/cfml-compatibility/ http://www.getrailo.org/index.cfm/documentation/compatibility/cfml-compatibility/ ) and syntax differences (https://github.com/getrailo/railo/wiki/Language_And_Syntax_Differences https://github.com/getrailo/railo/wiki/Language_And_Syntax_Differences ) to make sure all of your existing code complies. The differences arent major, but there are a few that may apply to you. Its a very good upgrade, IMHO, and, generally, a painless switch. Re: CF10 Updater 14
Ok, I finally got to Krishna Reddy's blog post that announced Updater 14 and I'm wading through the 147 comments. (had to go through coldfusionBloggers.org) Any input and thoughts still appreciated. Thanks! George When CF10 Updater 14 was released in October a lot of folks seemed to have issues during the installation or after installing it. We're ready to give it a go now but I'm not having much luck trying to find out if things have settled down since then. Even the Adobe ColdFusion Blog page that announced Updater 14 and that had many comments from folks who were having issues with it seems to not be available so I cannot check there. Is it ok to proceed with installing CF10 Updater 14 now? We'll be installing on Solaris 10. Thanks! Re: CF10 Updater 14
Havent tried it on Solaris, but I would suggest skipping 14 and using the 15 update, which is cumulative anyway. Either way, I would suggest running the update through the command line, rather than CFAdmin. Personally, ever since update 12, I havent been able to perform a successful update through the CFAdmin with either Windows or Linux. Stopping the server, running the update on the CLI and reinstalling the web server connectors has been much more reliable. CFGrid and CSS collisions.
Is there a way you can wrap a cfgrid or protect it from getting it's css overridden? I'm working on reskinning a legacy application and we're trying to minimize the impact of this new design that has essentially hosed everything. ~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/message.cfm/messageid:359926 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/unsubscribe.cfm
