Re: .bak files in Dreamweaver
RE: .bak files in DreamweaverContribute is a seperate application provided by Macromedia, which offers Content Management for the non-technical inclined (assuming someone has developed a site for them with that in mind), and specifically a feature called Rollback. Rollback creates backup files each time you put your file to the server, up to a limit you set. If you are not using any Contribute functionality, then you may turn off Contribute compatibility by unchecking that option in your Site definition. - Calvin - Original Message - From: DeMarco, Alex To: 'Calvin Ward ' ; 'CF-Talk ' Sent: Wednesday, October 08, 2003 6:18 PM Subject: RE: .bak files in Dreamweaver Nope plan old DW, not DW2004 - Alex -Original Message- From: Calvin Ward To: CF-Talk Sent: 10/8/2003 10:48 AM Subject: Re: .bak files in Dreamweaver Are you using Contribute? - Calvin - Original Message - From: Demarco, Alex To: CF-Talk Sent: Wednesday, October 08, 2003 10:38 AM Subject: OT: .bak files in Dreamweaver I had a user ask today How come everytime I save a file a .bak file is also created... RE: .bak files in Dreamweaver
That would be my suspiction too, Calvin. Using DWMX 2004 and CT 2 (if you've indeed got your site configured to use Contribute) I'm pretty sure you can find/set this option via: - Site Manage Sites - Highlight the site in question, click Edit to open the site defs window - Select the Contribute category - Click 'Administer site in Contribute' - (Contribute 2 launches) - click the 'Sitewide Settings' button - uncheck 'Enable Rollbacks' HTH! -Scott -Original Message- From: Calvin Ward [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, October 08, 2003 7:48 AM To: CF-Talk Subject: Re: .bak files in Dreamweaver Are you using Contribute? - Calvin - Original Message - From: Demarco, Alex To: CF-Talk Sent: Wednesday, October 08, 2003 10:38 AM Subject: OT: .bak files in Dreamweaver I had a user ask today How come everytime I save a file a .bak file is also created...Wheere is the option to turn that off?
