Re: Moving to Google Groups
Hi, y'all! Quoting Dan Knight [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Fans of 680x0 Macs, we've successfully launched our first two email lists using Google Groups - one for Macintel models and one for the Mac mini. As of this afternoon, we've turned off our three Maclone lists, which have also transitioned to Google Groups. Advantages: You can browse messages online, where they are threaded. You can manage your subscription yourself. Lots more room for the archive. And Google Groups doesn't automatically include your email address in your postings. Today we begin moving Compact Macs, Vintage Macs, and Quadlist to Google Groups. Google Groups will not replace the current lists until early next week, but I wanted to give everyone a chance to subscribe. To join the list and set your mode (single messages, digest, etc.), point your browser to http://groups.google.com/group/vintage-macs Hey, Dan, the link above appears to be leftover from the message you sent to the vintage-macs list. Re: Moving to Google Groups
Out of curiosity, how much traffic do those other lists receive? I have been on this list for a while, but sometimes adding more traffic will chase away some of the more casual subscribers who just don't feel like sorting through the extra information. -Chris - Original Message - From: Stuart Bell [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Compact Macs compact.macs@mail.maclaunch.com Sent: Friday, January 27, 2006 5:39 PM Subject: Re: Moving to Google Groups On 27 Jan 2006, at 21:34, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hey, Dan, the link above appears to be leftover from the message you sent to the vintage-macs list. Sorry. If we get too much, we could suggest re-division. But I suspect that traffic is a fraction of what it was a couple of years ago. Stuart -- Compact Macs is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/. Re: Moving to Google Groups
If there is so little traffic, couldn't someone setup a 68k machine to handle this list? It'd be cool to have a mailing list handled by a 68k that would also handle the archive in 68k friendly HTML.
