My talent with language is something I was born with, and while I'm glad it happened, I cant honestly take credit. Its either the work of God or the work of blind chance, depending on which you choose to believe. But style is not what my writing is about. My writing is about research. I look stuff up I tell you what I find. Research takes very little talent, if any. Research is not about inspiration. Research is about perspiration. If you know what youre looking for, and you just keep looking and you do it in a thorough and systematic fashion, sooner or later you will find it. Its a lot more like digging a ditch than it is like rocket science. The trouble with conspiracy research, and historical research in general, is not that its difficult, but that so few people seem willing to make the effort to dig. Most people seem willing to let others dig for them. Not every alleged researcher digs their ditch in a straight line. A lot of them shovel pure crap. The result is massive and widespread delusions. This is not accidental. There are people out there who get paid to tell you lies and to distract and divert you from the reality of their masters crimes. Other people do it for sport. It behooves anyone who wants to know whats really going on out there to find out for themselves. This means going to multiple sources, and whenever possible to primary sources. Above all, it means not taking any single guys word for anything, not even mine. This is not difficult to do, nor is it an unpleasant way to pass time. But it is time consuming. The essence of effective research is time management. Life is short. How much of it do you really want to spend listening to one or two guys who may or may not be lying or wrong? Youll never learn the truth of anything from one guy, except the nature of his own opinions. If you want an opinion, have one of your own. But base it on facts, not somebody elses opinions. If a guy said something happened, find out if hes telling the truth. First check his sources. If he gave none, hes lying. If he gives only a single source, theyre lying. Conspiracy, by its very nature, is buried under a pile of lies. Conspiracy theory isnt built, its uncovered. Youre not trying to build rockets. Youre digging a ditch. Every shovel full of crap you fling over your shoulder, the closer to your goal you are. If theres a guy in front of you digging, the crap he flings lands in your face. Get out in front of him. Miniature cameras placed in the headlights of vehicles of known Russian spies, to record their movements. Homing devices, and an extensive system of transmitters, to track them as they traveled throughout New York City. Slivers of metal and fiber optics, embedded in window seals and furniture, to serve as supersensitive listening equipment. Now, these surveillance techniques, among the best practiced by U.S. counterintelligence, may be lost. ABCNEWS has learned that suspected Russian spy Robert Hanssen was in a position to reveal the techniques, called tradecraft, to his Russian and Soviet handlers, when he worked for the FBI in New York from 1985 to 1987. Other secrets from the tradecraft playbook include an FBI system for photographing passengers coming in from Russia - to monitor for incoming spies. FBI officials are now reviewing failed covert operations from the period Hanssen was in New York, trying to see if the failures were because their tradecraft playbook had been given to the Russians. But the electronic snooping war continues to evolve, with more sophisticated devices that are increasingly difficult to detect. One new development is the airborne microphone. "Having no metallic content whatsoever makes it immune from X-rays," said surveillance consultant Martin Kaiser. "It makes it immune from known wire detection processes so it's really the ideal microphone." 'Exceptionally Strong' Evidence Meanwhile, a federal judge recently ordered Hanssen to stay in jail on the grounds that the government's evidence against him was "exceptionally strong." Connect: ernail: carrneloruiz@hotmailcom In 1976, reporters Gerard Colby and Charlotte Dennett traveled to Brazil as part of a journalistic team to write stories about the work of Christian missionaries in the Amazon basin. High on Colby and Dennett's list of priorities was to learn about a mysterious missionary organization called the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL). This outfit, also known as the Wycliffe Bible Translators, had gotten kudos from both conservatives and liberals for translating the Bible into hundreds of indigenous languages in Central and South America and helping native peoples cope with the intrusion of Western civilization into their lives. However, Colby and Dennett had heard of a darker side to SIL. Numerous critics had alleged that SIL was the vanguard of the destruction of both the rainforests and their native inhabitants. They had heard from Latin American acquaintances that SIL was, in military fashion, a scouting party that surveyed the Amazonian hinterlands for potential sources of opposition to natural resource exploitation (read cattle ranching, clearcutting and strip mining) among native peoples and that it employed a virulent brand of Christian fundamentalism that relied on linguistics to undermine the social cohesion of aboriginal communities and accelerate their assimilation into Western culture. In addition to all this, numerous articles in the Latin American press accused 511. of being funded by the American intelligence community. That last charge sounded particularly believable, since the authors' trip took place in the wake of recent revelations by the Church Committee of the US Senate, which investigated the activities of US intelligence agencies. It bears mentioning that Colby was by then no stranger to corporate and political intrigue. In 19 74, writing as Gerard Colby Zilg, he published Dupont: Behind the Nylon Curtain, a 600+ page tome that narrated the Dupont family's corrupt history, from its profiteering on gunpowder sales to its manufacture of ozone-depleting gases. However, don't expect to see it in bookstores. When a Dupont PR representative said the book was scurrilous and actionable, publisher Prentice Hall was intimidated into letting Dupont go out of print. (In 1984, an expanded and updated 900 page-long edition of the book was published, which included, among other things, the Dupont's little-known connection to the Nicaraguan contras. Unfortunately, it met the same fate as the previous edition.) Dennett was also a veteran journalist, having recently been stationed in Beirut, where she covered the civil war then raging in Lebanon. The authors found SIL a veritable empire whose missionary activities spanned every country in the Amazon basin, with a network of bases that look more like picket-fenced American suburbia than the frontier outposts for the global economy that they actually are. SIL even has its own air force and communications system, the Jungle Aviation and Radio Service (JAARS), which permits it to act virtually independently from the governments of the countries where it operates. After years of research, Colby and Dennett found a number of irrefutable links between SIL and US counterinsurgency operations. Among these, SIL agressively denied that the native peoples of Brazil and Guatemala were being slaughtered by the military regimes of their countries; it allowed its base in the Ecuadoran Amazon to be used by Green Berets who were combing the Western Amazon for signs of armed insurgency; and it assisted the Peruvian air force, which had napalmed the Mayoruna and Campa Indians. If Colby and Dennett had limited themselves to just exposing SIL, Thy Will be Done would still have been a formidable journalistic achievement. But the authors went on to research the American institutions, private and governmental, that provided support for SIL's mission. These included Standard Oil of New Jersey; the Pew family, creators of the Sun Oil Company (Sunoco) and the Pew Charitable Trusts, the US Agency for International Development, and the US military through its donations of surplus military equipment. Although they could find no smoking gun directly linking the CIA to SIL, they did find several circumstantial and indirect links, such as financial support from a foundation that was later exposed as a CIA front and the fact that JAARS's top pilot, Lawrence Montgomery, was on the Agency's payroll. In the course of their investigation, the authors learned that SIL had a big debt to institutions and individuals associated with the

Malta, N.Y., March 24 - John F. Pew Jr. of North Main Street
in Mechanicville, was pronounced dead Friday after being
struck by a tractor trailer just past Exit 12 on the Northway.
Police say the forty-seven year old stopped his car on the side
of the road, then got out and walked onto the roadway and into
the path of the tractor trailer. Police are still unsure what
motivated Pew's actions.
{PRIVATE}The driver of the trailer, Vincent Kearney, was treated and
released from Saratoga Hospital with a neck injury. No charges
were filed against him. The accident left the northbound lane of
the Northway closed for three hours Friday.

The Dow can be tumbling 200 or 300 points in a given day, and without any sign of embarrassment or sense of the ridiculous TV anchors will break into a financial news program (as happened recently on CNN) to inform us bre athlessly of the latest in a trial involving a rap star nicknamed "Puffy." Yet those same mainstream media do not consider it "news" that the secretary-general of the United Nations supports policies that would shut down our country (the Kyoto global warming treaty) and make the Great Depression of the 1930s look like a tea party, or that he supports the International Criminal Court, which could yank Americans away from the protection of our justice system and put them at the mercy of a foreign court on trumped- up charges by our enemies. Adams says she hopes that in our dealings with Annan and with the U.N. in general, "Americas best interest will be the first concern" of our officials. Some of the U.N. treaties are pre-empting our Constitution, she says. When I asked her what would happen if push really came to shove on this and if we had to choose between, on the one hand, the freedoms we take for granted in this country, and U.N. edicts on the other hand, Adams replied, "If it came to economics [such as the Kyoto treaty kicking in], you can be sure the American people would rise up and say No way! " But on other matters, she is not so sure, because "it is happening so gradually" and p eople are not being told what is at stake. Adams points out, for example, that few are aware that Annan has said, "It is my fervent hope that the International Criminal Court will have unquestioned authority and the widest possible jurisdiction." That was one quote that was not repeated during the brief photo-op when Annan met with Bush Friday. Making Nice Instead, we were treated to diplomatic niceties such as the president's statement, "I appreciate your willingness to serve a second term, Mr. Secretary-General, and I'm looking forward to working not only to make sure tha t you serve a second term, but, once thats done, work closely with you to keep the peace and make the world more prosperous." Two observations on that one paragraph: It's obvious from the president's clarification of his stand on the theory of global warming that he does not see eye to eye with Annan's views on what constitutes "prosperity," surely not a treaty that would shut down Am erica. Supporting Annan for a second term is a bad idea, according to Kindcaid of America's Survival. He thinks the president should have used the meeting as "an opportunity to tell Annan that the U.S. will oppose his bid for a second term as U.N. boss. The selection of Otto J. Reich, a Cuba hard-liner, for assistant secretary of state for western hemispheric affairs sets the stage for an acrimonious battle during his Senate confirmation. A former ambassador to Venezuela, the Cuban-born Reich played a role in the Iran-Contra affair, the Reagan administration's most embarrassing foreign policy initiative. As a result, liberals have threatened to fight Reich's nomination with the same fervor that they generated against Attorney General John Ashcroft. The problem for Reich, 55, who would serve as chief policy diplomat in Latin America, is his past: He was a key figure in prohibited, covert propaganda activities in the United States designed to discredit the Marxist government of Nicaragua. In his current role as a lobbyist, he has worked for companies that benefit from the American embargo on Cuba, which he helped tighten. His selection could sour relations with other countries in the hemisphere, including Canada and Mexico, as well as the European Union, which oppose the embargo. Backing the Contras From the summer of 1983 until late 1986, Reich ran a controversial government office designed to generate American public support for the U.S.-backed war in El Salvador and for the U.S.-backed Contra rebels in Nicaragua. In 1987, the U.S. comptroller general found that Reich and associates in the Office of Public Diplomacy for Latin America and the Caribbean waged a media campaign supporting the Contra rebels. An internal Public Diplomacy memo said the goal was to "concentrate on gluing black hats on the Sandinistas and white hats" on the Contras. The office relied on Army psychological-warfare specialists and was accused of smearing U.S. journalists the administration found especially critical of its Central America policy. In a 1985 interview with New York magazine, Reich said reporters were having sexual relations with heterosexual and homosexual Sandinista agents in exchange for favorable coverage. "Ultimately," a 1988 article in the Washington Post reported, "the campaign came to resemble the sort of covert political operation the CIA runs against hostile forces overseas but is outlawed from conducting at home." http://democrats.com/ Theft of the Presidency: Day 132 Just days before the Miami Herald is expected to announce the results of its state-wide recount of ALL undervotes, right wing legal attack group Judicial Watch is trying to sabotage that effort by announcing its own distorted results from a PARTIAL recount. According to Judicial Watch, there are 62,205 undervotes statewide. JW counted 42,724 of them, and concluded that Bush - not Gore - would have gained between 107 and 116 votes, depending on the precise standard used. So far, no problem. But then they make this completely fraudulent claim: "a statewide recount of the Florida undervotes would not have changed the outcome of the presidential election." Democrats.com has kept a running tally of media recounts at gorewonflorida.org since Katherine Harris certified Bush as the winner by only 537 votes. As of March 10, Gore had gained 1,773 votes, giving him a lead of 1,236. Using Judicial Watch's higher number of 116, Gore STILL leads by 1,120 votes. By claiming Bush won, Judicial Watch is committing "recount malpractice." Before we declare this election over, let's wait for the recount of ALL 62,000 undervotes. That's what the Florida Supreme Court ordered in November, and that's what should have decided the winner. Unfortunately for America, a narrow partisan majority of the U.S. Supreme Court conspired with George W. Bush to steal the Presidency - regardless of the will of the voters. If the recounts prove that Gore got more votes, we will work tirelessly to remove George W. Bush, his fellow Republicans, and the Felonious Five from office.

The significance of this series, to me, was that it explained what happened to the U.S. Space Program after 1975 better than anything else I have seen. Prior to then there are good histories by many astronauts and others associated with the space program. Most write very little or nothing about the space program after Project Apollo ended. Could that be because the Shuttle program was rushed into use as spy apparatus after all U.S. spy satellites were destroyed, as stated in "Fire From The Sky?" If anyone has a better explanation I would love to see it. Unfortunately many took the significance of the series to be that the Nazis escaped. That, to me, was a side issue. I was accused of being a neo-Nazi, an anti-semite and a "Nazi historian" when I didn't even write the series. The other unfortunate aspect of this is the absence of good information gives credence to the ridiculous claims that Project Apollo astronauts never went to the moon. I find it interesting that Nessie and "One Who Knows" used some of the same sources in their research. Research, which I might add, is confined to published material in print and on the web. As far as I know, neither interviewed anyone with first-hand knowledge. The primary difference is that "One Who Knows" used the writings of Commander Gyeorgos Ceres Hatonn, as channeled through George Green and Doris Ekker. These writings appeared in the Phoenix Liberator and its successors, including Contact: The Phoenix Project. They are also included in the Phoenix Journals. -Caveat Lector- March 25, 2001-NYT A New Role for Greens: Public Enemy By JOSEPH KAHN W ASHINGTON PRESIDENT BUSH has declared that, once again, the nation has an acute shortage of energy. But the enemy his administration has identified is not one of the usual suspects: profligate usage, OPEC or Saddam Hussein. Instead, it is environmentalism. As Mr. Bush's energy team prepares a comprehensive energy strategy, its members are meeting with conservationists as well as oil industry lobbyists. But the team has begun outlining what sounds like a supply-side crusade under an anti-green flag. Among the measures under consideration, according to administration officials and some Congressional and industry experts, are: easing clean-air rules for coal-fired power plants; loosening federal standards on river flows to protect fish; giving refiners relief from diverse anti-pollution standards in different states; allowing states to control drilling rights on some federal lands; pushing construction of nuclear plants; and, the headline grabber so far, opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas exploration. Mr. Bush has not been shy about taking on environmentalists: last week, he reversed a Clinton administration executive order that tightened arsenic standards for drinking water, a boon to the mining industry. And in a preview to his approach to energy policy, he dropped a campaign pledge to require power plants to control emissions of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas. Spencer Abraham, the energy secretary, called the drafting of the energy plan a search for a middle ground between environmentalists and industry. But he sounded the new battle cry at a Washington energy conference last week, ridiculing a recent newspaper ad from a pro-conservation group, which argued California should solve its electricity shortages by a crash efficiency plan. He cited a study his department prepared that claims that the United States will need 1,300 new power plants during the next 20 years. It was the Clinton administration's folly, he said, to think that the nation could limit demand and just let supply take care of itself. "Through neglect or complacency or ideology, this approach has led us to the crisis we face today," he said. THE Bush arsenal includes pointing out that a proliferation of "green tape" has made blocking energy projects on environmental grounds too easy, and that it has cost the nation an adequate fuel supply. And the Bush team also points the finger at people who use environmental rules to simply pursue their own narrow interests. "We've had an approach that isn't balanced because it's been so easy to stop projects," said Vice President Dick Cheney, who is heading the energy team. "Nobody wants to be able to see a transmission line from their front yard. Nobody wants a gas pipeline through their community. Nobody wants a power plant in their county. It's going to be very important that we change the circumstances." Part of the Bush focus comes out of politics. Environmental groups gave generously to Democrats, while Republicans collected $10 million of the $14 million in political contributions by oil and gas companies and their trade groups, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. There is also the question of experience. Mr. Bush, Mr. Cheney and Donald Evans, the commerce secretary, who is also a member of the energy team, are themselves oil industry veterans. They are very aware that the clean-air act of 1970, as amended in 1990, is the industry's bête noire. And there is no question that it has forced companies to reduce output from older power plants and refineries. Yet some of the measures under consideration have, at best, a tangential relationship to the electricity shortage in California. Mr. Bush's backing of legislation introduced by Senator Frank Murkowski, an Alaska Republican, to open a part of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil exploration will do nothing to increase the nation's capacity to produce electricity. Oil is not a major fuel for power plants. Natural gas shortages are a different story. Because it is a clean-burning fuel, power generators have come to rely heavily on it to produce electricity. What seemed like an endless bounty of cheap gas a few years ago now seems more precarious. Prices have soared, and strains on gas pipelines are obvious. But it's not clear that natural gas is in crisis. Natural gas has been so cheap for so long that companies have not had the incentive to fully exploit known reserves or invest in new infrastructure. High prices as opposed to government incentives could work to secure more supply relatively quickly, many experts argue. And while it is true that community groups have made it difficult to build gas pipelines, the mother of them all a $10 billion gas superhighway from Alaska's North Slope to the lower 48 states has been stalled for economic reasons, not environmental ones. (Reuters) - When a top Canadian military figure this weekend urged his government to sign up to a much-criticized U.S. missile defense system, it only deepened one of Ottawa's most difficult current dilemmas. Lt.-Gen. George Macdonald, deputy head of the powerful joint Canadian-U.S. NORAD air defense command, told Reuters it made no sense to stay in the sidelines if Washington presses ahead with its National Missile Defense (NMD) system. Canadian Defense Minister Art Eggleton, emerging from a tour of NORAD's command bunker in Cheyenne Mountain, made it plain that ministers would have to consider public opinion before deciding whether to join a program that some U.S. allies fear could trigger a nuclear arms race with Russia and China. But his insistence that Canada would do nothing until asked to join NMD does not hide the fact Ottawa might soon have to choose whether to risk the wrath of its greatest ally. "The Americans have bent over backward to accommodate us in the past but if they are determined to go ahead with this program come hell or high water, then that puts the onus on us to decide where our supreme interests lie," said David Rudd, director of the Canadian Institute for Strategic Studies. Canada' armed forces are desperate to maintain a close defense relationship with the United States, which gives Canada a far greater level of protection than it could ever hope to provide by itself. Besides, they add, NMD is designed chiefly to knock down missiles launched by such maverick states as North Korea and Iraq rather than provide a shield against Russia's nuclear arsenal. The Canadian foreign ministry, however, fears that signing up to NMD could fatally compromise Canada's reputation as a country that has fought to limit the global spread of weapons of mass destruction and reduce international tensions. "It's going to be very difficult to say no if the Americans invite us," acknowledged one senior Canadian official. "But what should we do -- join NMD and thereby risk spoiling all the work we've done over the last decades on non-proliferation? Or do we refuse and blow the one real card we have with the Americans?" That winning card, described by Canada's military as "the jewel in the crown" of the U.S.-Canadian defense relationship, is the NORAD complex in Colorado. Macdonald points out that NORAD enables Canada to enjoy the protection of an enormous defense operation is mainly financed Washington. ARMED FORCES' BIGGEST NIGHTMARE IS THE END OF NORAD "Of course, just being a partner in a two-member alliance with the strongest military power in the world and our best trading partner and our closest ally has to be a positive thing," said Macdonald. The armed forces' biggest nightmare is that a decision to stay out of NMD would effectively spell the end of NORAD. Former Canadian Foreign Minister Lloyd Axworthy, who until he stepped down last October made no secret of his opposition to NMD and his determination that Canada should not always toe Washington's line, says this fear is exaggerated. He recalled that former Canadian prime minister Brian Mulroney turned down the chance to take part in Washington's much more ambitious anti-missile Strategic Defense Initiative in the 1980s without damaging bilateral relations. "They have their own policy, we have ours, and 90 percent of the time they may be totally complementary and integrated and at other times Canadians have to make that call," said Axworthy, now director of the University of Vancouver's Liu Center for the study of global issues. "What the political consequences of that may be depends on how you do it and how you handle it. But we are still dealing with the question of whether Canada has an independent view of its interests or not." Complicating Ottawa's quandary, says Rudd, is the cautious nature of Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien. The advice was ignored because the Government was concerned about the economic consequences of a ban. This week the Government is expected finally to announce a ban on pigswill. Professor Harriet Kimbell MBE, a Seac member, said: 'One should never recycle pigs to pigs, sheep to sheep. Anything that is from the same species is a risk and should be stopped.' City council in Calgary, Alberta, the country's gleaming oil-industry center, votes April 2 on the plan that would require panhandlers to agree to a code of conduct before they are granted ID badges allowing them to hit people up for coins and cigarettes. ``It's intended to reduce any potential disruptive behavior or harassment or confrontations with the public,'' said city councilor Bob Hawkesworth, vice-chairman of the committee studying the proposal. The licensing scheme, based on the ID tags charity fund-raisers wear when going door-to-door, would also require panhandlers to undergo counseling and job-search workshops. The western Canadian city of almost 900,000 people has relatively few beggars compared with other major metropolitan areas. About 40 regulars are said to dot the downtown core, although numbers swell in the summer. Only a fraction are known as aggressive. A jury of eight women and four men will decide whether Jablonski should proceed to trial or be treated at a state mental hospital. Jablonski, 47, is charged with the April 1991 mutilation slayings of four women, including his wife and her mother in Burlingame, while on parole for killing his third wife. He could face the death penalty if convicted. If he is found competent to stand trial, a different jury will decide whether he is guilty of the charges. Jablonski has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, a mental disorder that causes him to hear voices, said Jeff Boyarsky, his court-appointed attorney. ``He is not connected to reality,'' Boyarsky said. ``It is not enough to just sit there.'' But according to prosecutor Martin Murray, Jablonski's detached stares and occasional wide-eyed glances around the courtroom are part of a carefully planned act to manipulate the system and evade justice. Jablonski is charged with killing his wife, Carol Spadoni Jablonski, 47, and her mother, Eva Inge Peterson, 72, in their Burlingame home on April 23, 1991. The women were shot and sexually mutilated. Carol Spadoni married Jablonski on June 16, 1982, while he was serving a prison sentence for the 1979 murder of his third wife, Melinda Kimball. Jablonski also is charged with killing Fathyma Vann, 38, in Indio, about 25 miles from Palm Springs, the day before the double-murder. Vann was found shot and sexually mutilated in the desert with ``I love Jesus'' carved in her back. Jablonski is also charged with killing Margie Rogers, 58, during a $158 robbery in Grand County, Utah, on April 27, 1991. The suit, which asks unspecified damages, was filed on behalf of the three victims' widows after the November 1982 shooting. It alleges that officials at Napa State Hospital released Clarence McCutcheon even though they considered him a violent and dangerous psychopath. McCutcheon was a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic with a long history of violent acts and threats. He was killed by police on Nov. 29, 1982, after he gunned down his three victims. Hospital Director At the time, the director of Napa State Hospital was Dr. Michael O'Connor, the current state director of mental health. The suit accuses O'Connor and other officials of ignoring state laws that allow psychiatric officials to confine dangerous mental patients up to 90 days if they may injure themselves or others. O'Connor and other state officials deny the allegations. Killed in the murderous rampage were Gene Cox, sheriff of Humboldt County for 16 years; Jack Alton, Cox's father-in-law, and Claire Montgomery, a resident of the trailer park where the shooting took place. Plaintiffs in the suit are Shirley Cox, Doris Montgomery and Hannah Alton. Jury selection in the case is scheduled to begin today. The lawsuit stems from a series of incidents that began in Eureka in October 1982. McCutcheon, a 50-year-old Santa Monica man, was sent to Napa after destroying the signs in a Eureka campground and threatening to kill a neighbor who asked him to stop. Previous Arrest His medical and psychiatric records show that he had previously been arrested by federal officials for making a bomb threat on an airliner. He had spent a year in a federal mental facility in Springfield, Mo., after he was found incompetent to stand trial on the bomb-threat charges. While in custody in Eureka, McCutcheon fought with mental health technicians and police, threatened to kill a doctor who examined him and had to be restrained to prevent him from attacking workers at the county crisis intervention center, according to his records. His medical records from the center describe him as "easily agitated, angry, threatening," and ordered his isolation from others "given recent evidence of unpredictability and threats of violence." A local Oklahoma City reporter for an NBC affiliate claimed to have found 'massive evidence of a foreign conspiracy involving Saudi terrorist leader Osama bin Laden in the 1995 bombing of the federal building that killed 168 people.' The problem is that the World Net Daily story was government disinformation, fulfilling the media mandate to muddy the waters in this egregious government conspiracy and coverup. Reporter predicts Iraq-US, Syria-Israel showdowns By Tom Tugend LOS ANGELES (March 25) - Iraq and the United States will face off again within two years, while a likely confrontation between Israel and Syria is also on the horizon. The dour predictions were delivered Thursday at a small private luncheon by Kenneth R. Timmerman, an investigative reporter who has made the turbulent Middle East his beat for the last two decades. "There's no doubt that there will be war between Iraq and the United States, but President George W. Bush will set the timetable and will finish the job," his father, by implication, left undone, said Timmerman. In the 20 months since United Nations inspectors were kicked out of Iraq, President Saddam Hussein has perfected chemical and biological weapon programs and is on the verge of nuclear weapon capability, Timmerman asserted. During a later brief interview, Timmerman clarified his war prediction by saying that Bush will get at Hussein by rebuilding and strengthening Iraqi movements, inside and outside the country, opposing the dictator's rule. "The impression is strong that military preparations in advance of that meeting are a lot more hectic than the diplomatic ones." Earlier, DEBKAfile reported that Washington had given the green light to Sharon to strike "at the core of the blossoming radical Middle East bloc linking Baghdad, Gaza, Tehran, the Hezbollah and possibly Damascus, before it ripens." The decision on whether to administer the blow before or after the Arab summit was left to Sharon, in consultation with Washington. "A comprehensive Israeli offensive directed simultaneously against the Iranian force commanding the missile strength in Lebanon, the Hezbollah and the Syrian arms supply routes from Damascus airport, at the same time taking out Palestinian bases, would all fall within the province of the understandings Sharon reached with President Bush last Tuesday in the White House," reports DEBKAfile. I love it when the good guys use the procedural finesses that routinely are used to bludgeon us. Recently we reported about this seldom-employed law to block implementation of medical privacy? Answer: Yes. Iâve introduced a House Concurrent Resolution that would stop the imposition of 1,500 pages of regulations that are said to be designed to protect our privacy. Itâs sort of like the Bank Privacy Act back in the 1970s. They passed that bill and it did everything to invade our privacy. Now Iâm a physician -- 1,500 pages to tell the doctors they ought to protect patient privacy? We never had any regulations or pages or laws. We had ethics and rules and it was understood you never released information. Q: Actually if I understand the details of this deal it really opens it up where third parties can be notified without the patient even knowing about it? A: Correct. It is actually the opposite of privacy. And a lot of the congressmen are going to be snookered into this and say, "Oh yeah, we have to protect privacy. If we donât vote for this weâre not voting for privacy." So my job is as I see it is trying to let as many people know as possible that this is doing exactly the opposite. It literally sets up a national medical data bank and allows medical records to be used by the government. You see, they [Congress] donât think if the government has the information that thatâs so bad ... I think it is very, very dangerous. The resolution Iâve introduced would block that. Q: By the way it is important to note that if you didn't do this -- if your resolution is not effected -- if nothing happens by April 14th, baddabing-baddaboom, the bad stuff happens. A: Thatâs it. Itâs the law and it happens. The authority was given in 1996. Unfortunately, this is one of the things that occurred after the Republicans took control of congress and Clinton went along with it. So the authority has been set up. Each year Iâve been able to block using any funds to set up a national data bank and using the social security number as an ID. But theyâre progressing steadily. Theyâll let me block it for maybe a year, but they keep coming back and coming back. This is a bold step -- and itâs being done by the regulators -- and Iâm just hoping I can alert enough people to this problem so that Congress will wake up. Q: What if any kind of support are you getting from your colleagues? A: This was just introduced recently so I have not done a "Dear Colleague" letter. I personally have spoken with Dick Armey and Armey is pretty good on this issue. Heâs helped me get the legislation passed before to block the setting up and the using of the national ID card. Q: I recently saw a statement by Donna Shalala, former secretary of Health and Human Services, that shocked me if only because I agreed with her. She said the regulations would affect the lives of every American. Sheâs right. Of course, what she didnât say is it would effect them negatively. A: Yeah, but for her, it affects them in a way that the

The framers gave us three branches of government specifically because we didnât want a king right? So they give us the Executive, the Legislative and the Judicial. And each one of you guys has a specific job function. A reasonable person, if such a fictional character existed, would expect that the legislature would be jealous of their territory. A: Yeah but they are not. We had a bill on the Education Committee and it was obviously unconstitutional and I brought the subject up -- and the chairman said, "Well that may be true but thatâs not our responsibility." Q: Bullfeathers! Absolutely it is your responsibility! A: He says, "Weâll wait until it goes to the court and they can decide." I just threw my hands up and said "Oh my!" Q: A few years ago -- I think it was a congressman from Florida -- he introduced some legislation that made all the sense in the world. It said no one could introduce anything unless they could provide a citing from the Constitution that authorized it. I remember joking with him at the time saying it would be cool if you could make that retroactive and he said weâd have to get rid of 90% of the laws we have. A: That was John Shaddock from Arizona. Interestingly, that never got passed into law but it is a rule of the House. And the rule is "followed" -- so you go and pick up a piece of legislation. I remember one that struck my interest -- it had to do with the export-import bank. China gets five billion dollars of export subsidies. So I went and asked, "Whatâs the constitutional justification for this?" So they cite the coinage clause -- that they can coin money and that to them was to extend credit to communist nations. So that bill would do no good even if it were a law. The general welfare clause and the interstate commerce clause -- everything has been so messed up. Q: We could do six hours on just the commerce clause. But the thing I have never understood is why congress would say, "Let the courts sort it out." The whole purpose of the three branches was so that shouldnât have to happen. A: They donât understand that they're supposed to interpret the Constitution just as a judge would interpret it. I think itâs their upbringing. The fact that they have not really studied constitutional law -- they have not been taught this in college and they're not interested in really paying attention. They might have some respect for what I do, but deep down inside ... Q: They marginalize you. A: Yeah they say, "This guy is really out of it." If I didnât go home and talk to my people and get some support and get reelected, theyâd have me doubting it too. Iâm absolutely convinced that we who believe this way are on the right track. We are much more correct than anything that they do and there are a lot of people around the country who feel frustrated, who feel good about somebody trying to stand up for these views. Q: Recently I was just re-reading a series of magnificent rants by Congressman Louis McFadden from 1933 and I was focused on the language he was using -- and how harsh he was in his criticism of specifically the Federal Reserve -- and I canât conceive of anyone who even attempts to give a speech like that now. I donât know -- maybe you, Jim Traficant if the moon is in a certain phase, or Bob Barr? A: Yeah and for most of them it isnât so much that they love the Fed -- they donât really understand the system but they know the Fed is important. Q: Weâll return to that but I need to drag us back on point to the International Criminal Court and explain the sleazy way that Clinton approved this mess. A: The meeting in Rome drawing this treaty was a couple of years ago and it was unpopular here and nothing was done. But it was at that time when Clinton was working on all his pardons on December 31st, the last day of the year, he had this treaty signed. Iâm sure he did this thinking it would quietly go by for a while without too much talking about it. Q: It could have also been a way of flipping off Congress because the treaty doesnât go into effect until the Senate approves it and the Senate is not going to approve it. A: Thatâs right and yet we are still concerned about it. Because just as we donât act within the rule of law very often, the world sort of takes upon themselves to interpret our signature being much more than we think it is. We think it should be ratified before it is the law of the land. Some of us think that, even if it is ratified, if it contradicts the Constitution it shouldnât be the law of the land. Q: Hold on there! Youâve got a couple of so-called "agreements" that have the clout of treaties in NAFTA and GATT and youâve been unable to do anything about those dogs. A: I know thatâs a big problem and they do take that and it becomes the law of the land. They literally

Iâve had Bill Benson on to discuss the non-ratification of the 16th Amendment. At some point can you ever see Congress addressing the questions raised by these men and others about the ratification of the 16th Amendment? A: No way! Itâs not going to happen. Even if you had 110% proof that was absolutely correct and that that was never ratified it would be so devastating to the establishment -- how else can they run the government without your money? I mean they need your money. Itâs like saying you expect the Congress in the next six months to systematically reduce their spending by ten percent? If we could trust them if they said theyâll reduce their spending, then maybe youâd think theyâll reduce taxes and do something. But they need your money. This is the reason why our privacy is disappearing -- whether itâs our financial privacy or whatever. They want to know where your money is and what youâre doing. Q: Hold on. For a long time there has been complicity between the mainstream media and government. They have pretty much controlled what kind of information the unwashed masses were being fed. However, now with this information revolution of the symbiotic relationship between the Internet and jokers like me on talk-radio, itâs like the vacuum that had been created by the mainstream is being filled. People are finding this information they had been denied. As more and more people find out -- hey, the 16th Amendment wasn't properly ratified, the Federal Reserve isn't federal and it isnât reserve, itâs a private scam, fiat money ainât gonna work, itâs designed to fail -- as more and more people get exposed to this, how long can Congress stall before they are compelled to address it? A: And you just stated why we should be optimists in the long run. I compare it to being in Washington in the '70s when it was very difficult to organize and reach people -- now, talk shows, radio, Internet -- itâs just amazing what we can do. But I still argue that, even with our numbers growing tremendously, weâre not on the verge of seeing a Congress do the things you are asking because there is so much more power and influence on the side of these spending programs. They may want less taxes but they do want these programs. But our numbers are very important. We have to keep growing our numbers and they understand this. Because soon, the tax revolt will grow -- it is growing -- it is very big. It is bigger than most people realize. There are some who do it with a lot of noise and there are a lot who are doing it very quietly. So there is a major revolt going on. Then, when the financial collapse comes -- which I suspect we will get -- this government is going to have to admit to some of these problems. There will be a tough tug-of-war between those who say we need more government versus our numbers, which are growing, and saying, "Weâre going to chuck it. Weâre not going to participate." Weâre going to demand that we live within the Constitution. That is not going to be graceful -- itâs not going to be smooth -- itâs not going to be through attrition in Congress because those who get to Congress are basically the ones who are there now. And theyâre going to say, "Ah ha! We have to keep this together for the good of the people. We have to make sure nobody misses their check." Q: What if ten or twenty years from now there is such outrage and so much information has been disseminated to the people that they finally get it and say, "Hey, you guys arenât representing the U.S. Youâre representing your special interests and feathering your own nests. Weâre going to throw your fat butts out!" A: Hey I work on the assumption that that is possible or I wouldnât be a political activist. And I am encouraged that I can go and vote the way I do and come back to my district. I have a district that has 22 counties -- mostly farming. I donât vote for farm subsidies and I explain my position and they listen to me and they still vote for me. So there is reason to believe it can happen, but itâs not going to be soon and itâs not going to be easy. I would think the tax revolt and the financial collapse is going to bring it to an end a lot sooner than transition in the Congress. But we should work for education and understanding and we should work to change the Congress and then we should be prepared for the rest. Q: Iâve been telling people for ten years: "Donât do anything stupid. Work within the system. Change the system. Fix whatâs broken. Donât do anything precipitous." Are you telling me Iâm wrong? A: No Iâm saying thatâs what I do -- and thatâs what we should do -- but we ought to be prepared for the other. I donât know what the future will bring. Maybe all

Credit should be given where credit is due, but many people in the public eye are largely creations of the media, spin-doctors and handlers. They simply have no merit in themselves -- they're like silly putty, crafted to suit someone else's purpose. Or they're made heroes for the wrong reasons. And when that happens, the concepts of merit and virtue are themselves debased. In general, I don't share many values with those in the mainstream media. I'm used to seeing people and concepts I hold in high regard discredited, swine apotheosized, and idiocies praised in the popular press. So I tend to be suspicious of anyone they like. Especially if it's someone in politics. Now comes one John McCain, a Senator from Arizona. Like most Republicans, he doesn't appear to have any core beliefs other than that the Democrats are moving too quickly in transforming the U.S. into a fascistic welfare state. And people are listening partly because, very much unlike the poseurs Algore and Baby Bush, McCain is supposed to be a war hero. Based on that, there might be reason to believe McCain is made of sterner stuff than his blow-dried colleagues. Col. David Hackworth, who actually is a war hero (among many other things -- literally too numerous to list here -- he's the recipient of two DSCs, 10 Silver Stars, 10 bronze Stars, and 10 Purple Hearts) took a look at his record and questions whether McCain is a "genuine war hero," like Audie Murphy, or just a guy who had the bad luck to be shot down after only 20 hours of flight time over a combat area and then survive over five years of imprisonment. The word is that he wouldn't have made the grade as a naval aviator had not his father and grandfather been flag officers, but that's beside the point. McCain was awarded a Silver Star, a Legion of Merit for Valor, a Distinguished Flying Cross, three Bronze Stars , two Commendation medals, two Purple Hearts and a dozen service awards. Unfortunately the narratives for the awards only speak of his having undergone extreme mental and physical cruelties at the hands of his captors, and were described as "boilerplate" and "part of an SOP medal package given to repatriated (Vietnam-era) POWs" by Naval officers Hack interviewed. The medals were basically given out for being there, not for heroism. The problem here is not that McCain didn't have terrible things done to him for a long time -- he did. The problem is that neither he -- nor anybody else who was in prison camp -- had a choice about whether they were endangered. But medals for heroism are supposed to be given out for actual heroic action, taken willfully and at great personal risk. They shouldn't be awarded simply because someone survived an involuntary ordeal. And didn't survive it as well as many others. McCain was quoted as saying "O.K, I'll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital" four days after his capture and later signed a confession declaring himself a war criminal. And although McCain refused an early release, the word is that he was ordered to do so by his U.S. POW commander. It was unquestionably a long, painful nightmare for McCain to log all that time in a North Vietnamese prison and, for that, he deserves genuine sympathy -- the kind of sympathy you reserve for someone who survived a five year battle with cancer. And the experience may (or may not) have made him a better person. But based on the facts, he's not a war hero. The essence of effective research is time management. Life is short. How much of it do you really want to spend listening to one or two guys who may or may not be lying or wrong? Youll never learn the truth of anything from one guy, except the nature of his own opinions. If you want an opinion, have one of your own. But base it on facts, not somebody elses opinions. If a guy said something happened, find out if hes telling the truth. First check his sources. If he gave none, hes lying. If he gives only a single source, theyre lying. Conspiracy, by its very nature, is buried under a pile of lies. Conspiracy theory isnt built, its uncovered. Youre not trying to build rockets. Youre digging a ditch. On the one hand farming is one the mostcosseted sectors in the so-called free market system. Brusselsbureaucrats dished out 23 billion in subsidies last year -3 billion in Britain, where there are just 168,000 farms. Thatwas just European Union largesse. BSE cost us, the taxpayer, over 600 million in compensation. It seems the BSE outbreak was ahealth and financial crisis for the rest of us, not for beeffarmers! So if someone suggests that occasional disease is a cost ofthe cheap food the farmers are providing through intensiveagriculture, don't forget you're paying for food twice - once at the checkout and a second time through tax deductions from your paypacket. Farmers should be in clover. But actually it's the richest 20% offarmers who get 80% of the subsidies from the public purse. And it istrue, despite the whining from rich farmers that we hear all thetime, that farming is at present in crisis. A supermarket pays 17pfor a litre of milk. Andmeat animals are treated by capitalis t intensive farming as eatingmachines until it is time to go to slaughter. For instance it takes 5 months to get a pigl et ready for market. A further delay of a monthor so makes pig breeding uneconomic. As Ian Campbell of the NationalPig Association puts it, "(Waiting) would severely damage theeconomics of it." The mass slaughter is being conducted for one reason - because itis the most profitable course of a ction. Are you suggesting that the Government is going to forbid farmers from coming into
our gardens?

I have learnt that the Government is drawing up secret plans in case of an epidemic
in our human population. If the outbreak is serious, a new government task force
will have no hesitation; it will go in and cordon off the stricken individuals and
slaughter them.
This plan is, of course, very very very secret indeed, as the Government thinks
there may be some hostile reaction. I only came across the plan by accident, when
one day last week by accident my phone rang and by accident I answered it.
"Kington?" said a voice. "It's Deep Sleep here."
Deep Sleep is the code name my government informant uses to pass on confidential
information. I have no idea what his real name is. Of course, he is in a similar
position. He has no idea what my code name is and so is forced to use my real name.
"I have the scoop of a lifetime, Kington," he said. "I have it on the best authority
that the Government is so encouraged by its success with foot-and-mouth disease that
it is going to do the same thing with humans."
"I'm not sure I know what you mean," I said. "Are you suggesting that the Government
is going to forbid farmers to come into our gardens?"
"Don't be silly," he said testily. "I mean that when large sections of the
population fall prey to some loathsome disease, a newly formed Slaughter Squad is to
go out, round them all up and discreetly cull them."
"You mean kill them?"
"Kill them, cull them, it's only words."
I tried to think about the unthinkable.
"The British public would never stand for it!"
"Don't be silly. The British public will stand for anything. They don't mind it when
we go out and bomb innocent Iraqis or Kosovars. They don't mind it when we slaughter
all the cod in the North Sea. They don't raise a sq
ueak when livestock is slaughtered to combat foot-and-mouth disease. They don't mind
battery farming of chickens. They're hardly likely to object to a timely reduction of
condemned people.
"The Government has done a lot of intensive research here and found that the British
public will stand for almost anything as long as enough men in white coats say that it
is necessary. They have even carried out a nation
wide experiment to prove it."
"Oh? When?"
"It was the 'beef-on-the-bone ban'. Remember that? There was no earthly justification
for a ban on beef on the bone. They just tried it to see if people would stand for it.
And the British public fell for it. Like a lamb
to the slaughter. Which is what this new move is all about. Lambs to the slaughter. Or
mutton, maybe, as it will mostly be old people involved..."
"Do you honestly think that the British public would see numbers of its citizens being
killed off without protest?"
"Why not? They did when Dr Harold Shipman did it. They did when Fred West did it. Not
a murmur..."
I paused to give the plan more thought. I had to admit it; the plan was frighteningly
plausible...
"Just think of all the advantages," Deep Sleep said insidiously. "It would lighten the
load of the national health service immeasurably. It would reduce the cost of looking
after the old enormously. If we decided that the
best way of dealing with cancer was to eliminate the suffering..."
"Cancer?" I said. "You didn't say anything about cancer!"
"No, but it's bound to come to that eventually. In any case, the way that most
people live today, crammed into polluted, unhygienic cities, means that we are
sitting on a medical time bomb. Cities are human battery farms. City living is
intensive human farming. We know that intensive farming and the thrust for cheaper
food has brought susceptibility to disease in its wake for animals. It is logically
bound to do the same with humans. Round the corner is a terrifying epidemic for
which Aids was only a rehearsal. When that drastic day comes, there will be a need
for a drastic reaction. The Government thinks that it should be prepared now. That
is why I think you should know..."
There was a sudden cry at the far end of the phone, followed by a thud and the sound
of a fall.
"Sleep!" I cried.
There was no answer. The receiver was silently replaced. I had a terrible feeling
that I had heard Deep Sleep being, if not culled, at least muzzled.

That was the key finding of the congressional investigation that concluded 22 years ago that President John F. Kennedy's murder in Dallas in 1963 was "probably . . . the result of a conspiracy." A shot from the grassy knoll meant that two gunmen must have fired at the president within a split-second sequence. Lee Harvey Oswald, accused of firing three shots at Kennedy from a perch at the Texas School Book Depository, could not have been in two places at once. A special panel of the National Academy of Sciences subsequently disputed the evidence of a fourth shot, contained on a police dictabelt of the sounds in Dealey Plaza that day. The panel insisted it was simply random noise, perhaps static, recorded about a minute after the shooting while Kennedy's motorcade was en route to Parkland Hospital. A new, peer-reviewed article in Science and Justice, a quarterly publication of Britain's Forensic Science Society, says the NAS panel's study was seriously flawed. It says the panel failed to take into account the words of a Dallas patrolman that show the gunshot-like noises occurred "at the exact instant that John F. Kennedy was assassinated." In fact, the author of the article, D.B. Thomas, a government scientist and JFK assassination researcher, said it was more than 96 percent certain that there was a shot from the grassy knoll to the right of the president's limousine, in addition to the three shots from a book depository window above and behind the president's limousine. G. Robert Blakey, former chief counsel to the House Assassinations Committee, said the NAS panel's study always bothered him because it dismissed all four putative shots as random noise -- even though the three soundbursts from the book depository matched up precisely with film of the assassination and other evidence such as the echo patterns in Dealey Plaza and the speed of Kennedy's motorcade. "This is an honest, careful scientific examination of everything we did, with all the appropriate statistical checks," Blakey said of Thomas's work. "It shows that we made mistakes, too, but minor mistakes. The main thing is when push comes to shove, he increased the degree of confidence that the shot from the grassy knoll was real, not static. We thought there was a 95 percent chance it was a shot. He puts it at 96.3 percent. Either way, that's 'beyond a reasonable doubt.' " The sounds of assassination were recorded at Dallas police headquarters when a motorcycle patrolman inadvertently left his microphone switch in the "on" position, deluging his transmitting channel with what seemed to be motorcycle noise. Using sophisticated techniques, a team of scientists enlisted by the House committee filtered out the noise and came up with "audible events" within a 10-second time frame that it believed might be gunfire. The Warren Commission had concluded in 1964 that only three shots, all from behind, all from Oswald's rifle, were fired in Dealey Plaza as the motorcade passed through. But the House experts, after extensive tests, found 10 echo patterns that matched sounds emanating from the grassy knoll, traveling carefully measured distances to nearby buildings and then bouncing off them to hit the open motorcycle transmitter. They also placed the unknown gunman behind a picket fence at the top of the grassy knoll, in front of and to the right of the presidential limousine. The House committee concluded that this shot missed, and that Kennedy was killed by a final bullet from Oswald's rifle. Thomas, by contrast, believes it was the shot from the knoll, seven-tenths of a second earlier, that killed the president. The NAS panel, assigned to conduct further studies after the committee closed down, said in 1982 that the noises on the tape previously identified as gunshots "were recorded about one minute after the president was shot." The NAS experts, headed by physicist Norman F. Ramsey of Harvard, reached that conclusion after studying the sounds on the two radio channels Dallas police were using that day. Routine transmissions were made on Channel One and recorded on a dictabelt at police headquarters. An auxiliary frequency, Channel Two, was dedicated to the president's motorcade and used primarily by Dallas Police Chief Jesse Curry; its transmissions were recorded on a separate Gray Audograph disc machine. The shooting took place within an 18-second interval that began with Curry in the lead car announcing on Channel Two that the motorcade was

In the last week alone Sharlene and Bryson have spoken to a two churches and a Christian Coalition gathering in Hemet, Calif., and to two California Republican Assembly groups in Long Beach and Arcadia. "In Long Beach so many people showed up they couldn't fit them all in," Sharlene said. "It made me feel so blessed." After years leading a drug-ravaged life, another blessing is the return of her singing talent. "I'm now a vocalist for my ministry," Sharlene announced. "I said, 'Lord, if you will restore my voice, I'll sing only music unto you.' And he really did give me my voice back." More than 200 people turned out for the Bryson-Jacobs' first California appearance, which was organized by Los Angeles talk radio host Jane Chastain. Chastain championed Sharlene during her lonely years behind bars, and she returned the favor by phoning with regular updates on her case. Last Saturday Chastain, Sharlene and Bryson gave an update on "The Judicial Watch Report" radio show. She doesn't like to dwell on her past as one-time coke supplier to Arkansas' first family, but after some prodding Sharlene revisited the story that has made her a legend to Clinton scandal buffs. "I'm just going to ask you one brief question right at the moment," Chastain told Sharlene on-the-air. "Were you patiently awaiting one of those pardons?" "No, I was not," Wilson-Jacobs laughed. She said Friday she's not at angry with Clinton over the discrepancy between her treatment and Vignale's, saying that her comments had been misinterpreted in a prior NewsMax.com report. "We were just laughing about the fact that I got such an excessive sentence while some folks who Clinton pardoned were major drug dealers," she explained. "It was just a joke. The last thing I ever expected was to get a pardon," Sharlene said.
