It's very reminiscent of the phony FBI Hanssen Spy Case. In other words, what the US Government is saying just doesn't jibe with the facts. The implausible government story states that the Aries II aircraft was supposedly escorted by ancient Chinese F8 fighter planes to a Chinese military base at Hainan Island. The Aries II has an electronic counter-measure capability that could completely fry the electronic components of a state-of-the-art MIG 29, let alone a vintage Chinese F-8. Its defensive capability consists of highly advanced directional microwave weaponry. Also this US Navy aircraft uses technology that is proprietary to the National Security Agency. Most of the technology on the aircraft is electronic intercept in nature. According to Department of Defense statements, all protocols were broken. This indicates that the incident has been staged to create a deliberate transfer of this technology. This technology is so advanced that even the NSA was queasy about giving it to the Chinese. Since this technology is not proprietary to the Department of Defense and since the NSA directly controls the contractors who produce this equipment, there wasn't any way for those who are in favor of transferring this technology to China, as a matter of illegal covert State policy, to effect this transfer without staging an international incident. Therefore an incident had to be created to give the Chinese this technology. Whoever was in charge of the aircraft command must have been in on it. Otherwise they would not have had the authority to circumvent the protocols, unless directly ordered to do so. The aircraft then would either be in pieces and the crew would be floating in life rafts. Or they would all be dead. By the way, the military designation of the EP-3E Aries II aircraft is high enough that all crew members carry cyanide capsules. They must not fall into enemy hands for interrogation. And that is precisely where they are at this moment. The Department of Defense claims they know nothing -- another bogus claim, since throughout the inside of the aircraft, there is a discreet video system which continues to broadcast. The Defense Department is also trying to imply that the Chinese are jamming the signals, but what they're not saying is that the Chinese don't have the technological capability to jam these signals. These are highly advanced microburst transmissions that can even be bounced off of China's own satellites. The Chinese would not even be aware of it. Russian and Chinese equipment cannot even detect such complex microburst transmissions. The protocol on this aircraft is very simple. If there was any chance that the aircraft could fall into hostile hands, the crew is deemed to be completely expendable. The protocol can only be overridden by the President of the United States. The only logical conclusion about this incident is that it is simply an ongoing transfer of sophisticated technology to the Chinese military. First, the government had admitted that there were 24 personnel on the aircraft the majority of which were US Navy personnel. The aircraft's has 19 operating stations, Who are the non-Navy personnel, which the government refuses to identify? Second, why did the crew not execute its emergency protocol and destroy the aircraft? The media is reporting that the crew is supposed to destroy the technology by any means necessary. Limiting the population of the earth to 500 million will require the extermination of nine-tenths of the world's people. The American Stonehenge's reference to establishing a world court foreshadows the current move to create an International Criminal Court and a world government. The Guidestones' emphasis on preserving nature anticipates the environmental movement of the 1990s, and the reference to seeking harmony with the infinite reflects the current effort to replace Judeo-Christian beliefs with a new spirituality. The message of the American Stonehenge also foreshadowed the current drive for Sustainable Development. Any time you hear the phrase Sustainable Development used, you should substitute the term socialism to be able to understand what is intended. There are conflicting stories about whether they went in peacefully or whether they pushed one of the staff members when he refused to leave. In any case, the police blocked off Fort street (a major downtown street) and brought in an ambulance, claiming that there was an emergency. When one of the women asked what the emergency was, they arrested her for obstruction. She was also the woman who had been delegated to be a negotiator, spokeswoman and police liaison. The police later said that they were unable to negotiate with the group. Soon a crowd of about thirty people gathered outside the office to see what was happening. The police response was beyond ridiculous. They brought in three police vans, two or three police motorcycles, several bike cops, the SWAT team and cops in riot gear. A long standoff ensued in which we all waited to see how the police would act. the 'stand off' took about four hours. Around 5:30, the police cleared the parking lot at the back door, then positioned their vehicles in a way that blocked off the view to the door, which they then battered down the door, and entered the office. The women were sitting inside with arms locked, and pulled up the blinds as soon as the police entered. The cops did not attempt to negotiate - they simply grabbed the women, and cuffed them in plastic cuffs. One of the women reportedly gave them the finger, and a policeman responded by swinging his baton at her. It is unclear whether she was hit. Outside, a group of about 75 people had gathered and were chanting in solidarity. When all the women were loaded into the vans, the police had to drive out of the parkade

After all, this is the same businesslike government that ripped up legally binding contracts without a flicker of conscience. Four words the Liberals don't understand: A deal's a deal. When the government placed these people in extended care, it promised them they'd receive round-the-clock professional nursing care. Now thousands will have that taken away. Many will get yanked after enduring months on waiting lists to get the care in the first place. If the Liberals have any compassion, they will announce immediately that no resident will be moved into reduced care without the resident's consent or the consent of his or her family. But I doubt they'll do that: The Liberals want to demote residents quickly to save as much as money as possible. The first nursing homes being hit are the ones owned outright by the government. Why? Because there is no legal obligation to give notice of closure. That's why you see the 19 elderly residents of government-owned Moberly Manor in Revelstoke getting just a month's notice of the home being shut down. What happened to Premier Gordon Campbell's promise that residents and their families would receive extensive, detailed consultation before anyone is moved? One month's notice is a joke. Even landlords have to give two months' notice under B.C. tenancy laws. Privately owned, government-funded nursing homes won't close as quickly because the contracts require at least a year's notice. (Then again, remember what contracts are worth to the Liberals.) Five of these 61 privately owned homes have already been targeted for closure by the government, said Ed Helfrich, CEO of the B.C. Association of Private Care. Some of our owners are going to be facing bankruptcy, Helfrich told me yesterday. There's been no consultation with our industry. It's been a very secretive process, driven by the government's financial concerns. This is how the Liberals treat private enterprise? The government says one-third or more of the province's 24,000 long-term-care residents are well enough to live in the community with reduced care. How does the government know this? It says the evidence is contained in studies -- but the studies haven't been released. Helfrich and nursing-home administrators I've consulted don't believe that one-third of their residents can adequately take care of themselves with limited help. Here's one of their greatest fears: The government comes in, assesses their residents and removes the most functional people. The remaining residents will be the ones with the most complex, time-demanding problems. The result: The quality of individual care goes down for all. This week's embarrassing, bungled performance by the two cabinet ministers responsible --Katherine Whittred and Colin Hansen -- is further proof that the strategy is poorly planned. That is, if there's been any planning at all. To understand why Palestinian men, and now women, are blowing themselves up in Israeli restaurants and buses is to understand the Arab-Israeli conflict. Ours is a nation of anger and defiance. The struggle today is how not to become a suicide bomber. We are told that there are long queues of people willing to join the road to heaven, and I believe it. What propels people into such action is a long history of humiliation and a desire for revenge that every Arab harbors. Since the establishment of Israel in 1948 and the resultant uprooting of Palestinians, a deep-seated feeling of shame has taken root in the Arab psyche. Shame is the most painful emotion in the Arab culture, producing the feeling that one is unworthy to live. The honorable Arab is the one who refuses to suffer shame and dies in dignity. The 35 years of Israeli military occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip has served as a continuous reminder of Arab weakness. But it was the destruction of the P.L.O. in Lebanon by Ariel Sharon that decisively shifted the Palestinian-Israeli confrontation to the occupied territories and Israel. Helplessness and shame gave way to anger that later poured into the streets as defiance. That was the first intifadeh. Suddenly Palestinians felt that they were restoring their honor by fighting the aggressor, by not being helpless victims. Facing a superior Israeli army with its formidable arsenal, they felt morally victorious as the children of the stones became heroes of defiance. While that sense of victory served Arafat as a psychological platform to launch his peace initiative and recognition of Israel, it was the Oslo agreement and the peace process that followed that disillusioned the Palestinians and threw them into a new episode of confrontation. The reluctance of Israeli governments to implement promised withdrawals from Palestinian land, and then the catastrophic failure of the Camp David talks, prepared the fertile soil for a new breed of militants and suicide bombers. It was the re-entry of Sharon to the political scene that sparked the new intifadeh. Scores of Palestinians were killed and maimed as Sharon declared his intention to cause as many casualties as possible. This time around, however, Israeli soldiers were not on foot and not even visible as they shot from their tanks. Palestinian militants shifted their target to the exposed Israeli civilians in markets and cafes. For the extremist militant, there is no difference between Israelis. They are the enemy; they are all the same. In every case of martyrdom, there is a personal story of tragedy and trauma. A curious journalist once asked me to introduce him to a potential martyr. When the journalist asked, Why would you do it? he was told, Would you fight for your country or not? Of course you would. You would be respected in your country as a brave man, and I would be remembered as a martyr. The generals met in a conference hall at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem, but the discussion was closed to the media and void of any sign of ceremoniousness. At one stage a lively argument broke out among the country's top officers on the question of whether the heritage of the Holocaust is beneficial or harmful, essential or superfluous for soldiers who are now called on to suppress the intifada. It was a fascinating meeting. Generals who identify with the left advocated the presence of the Holocaust as a restraining factor; those who identify with the right advocated the presence of the Holocaust as a steeling factor. True, the Holocaust has become a major component of the Israeli identity, but contrary to what is commonly thought, it is not always a unifying factor. Some people tend to emphasize the national lessons of the Holocaust, find in it the justification for Israel's establishment and for entrenching its security, and frequently cite it to justify government policy, including the defense of the settlements in the territories. Others are inclined to emphasize the humanitarian lessons of the Holocaust: the obligation to defend democracy and human rights, fight racism and explain to Israeli soldiers that the law obliges them to disobey flagrantly illegal orders, referring mainly to orders entailing serious harm to a civilian population. -Caveat Lector- This will soon be the fate of Saudi Arabia as well. Why Saudi Arabia, the best friend of the US in that region? Hardball and other US current events programs have spelled it out. On 9/11, 15 out of 19 of the terrorists were Saudis and secondly if an election were held today in Saudi Arabia, Bin Laden would win it by a landslide. So the Government of Ten Thousand Cousins has failed. But while it is in power, it is political suicide for the US to attack and invade. How to topple it? Nagy Progressive.org 2-22-02 Over the last two years, I've discovered documents of the Defense Intelligence Agency proving beyond a doubt that, contrary to the Geneva Convention, the U.S. government intentionally used sanctions against Iraq to degrade the country's water supply after the Gulf War. The United States knew the cost that civilian Iraqis, mostly children, would pay, and it went ahead anyway. The primary document, Iraq Water Treatment Vulnerabilities, is dated January 22, 1991. It spells out how sanctions will prevent Iraq from supplying clean water to its citizens. Iraq depends on importing specialized equipment and some chemicals to purify its water supply, most of which is heavily mineralized and frequently brackish to saline, the document states. With no domestic sources of both water treatment replacement parts and some essential chemicals, Iraq will continue attempts to circumvent United Nations Sanctions to import these vital commodities. Failing to secure supplies will result in a shortage of pure drinking water for much of the population. This could lead to increased incidences, if not epidemics, of disease. The document goes into great technical detail about the sources and quality of Iraq's water supply. The quality of untreated water generally is poor, and drinking such water could result in diarrhea, the document says. It notes that Iraq's rivers contain biological materials, pollutants, and are laden with bacteria. Unless the water is purified with chlorine, epidemics of such diseases as cholera, hepatitis, and typhoid could occur. The document notes that the importation of chlorine has been embargoed by sanctions. Recent reports indicate the chlorine supply is critically low. Food and medicine will also be affected, the document states. Food processing, electronic, and, particularly, pharmaceutical plants require extremely pure water that is free from biological contaminants, it says. The document addresses possible Iraqi countermeasures to obtain drinkable water despite sanctions. Iraq conceivably could truck water from the mountain reservoirs to urban areas. But the capability to gain significant quantities is extremely limited, the document states. The amount of pipe on hand and the lack of pumping stations would limit laying pipelines to these reservoirs. Moreover, without chlorine purification, the water still would contain biological pollutants. Some affluent Iraqis could obtain their own minimally adequate supply of good quality water from Northern Iraqi sources. If boiled, the water could be safely consumed. Poorer Iraqis and industries requiring large quantities of pure water would not be able to meet their needs. The document also discounted the possibility of Iraqis using rainwater. Precipitation occurs in Iraq during the winter and spring, but it falls primarily in the northern mountains, it says. Sporadic rains, sometimes heavy, fall over the lower plains.
