Calls for justice and reform came from a growing number of independent mosques and sheiks, who railed against the government and its Western allies, and advocated the formation of an Islamic state that returned to the ethical principles of Sharia law. But Egypt's Islamic militants became headlines again in 2001, when it was revealed that some of the Sept. 11 suicide hijackers were Egyptian -- including the plot's leader, Mohammed Atta. In addition, Osama bin Laden's second-in-command in the Al Qaeda terror network was Ayman al-Zawahiri, an Egyptian medical doctor.The CIA's "plausible deniability" on foreknowledge of 9-11 becomes less plausible with the Egyptian Islamic Jihad connections to 9-11. The CIA has a long history of using EIJ for covert operations. Omar Abdel Rahman, a CIA "valuable asset," was granted a visa and a green card to come to the US to recruit "Mujahideen" for the CIA's covert wars in Afghanistan in the 1980's and in Bosnia in the 1990's. During some of the time that the Riadys sought to link up with Wal-Mart, first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton served on Wal-Mart's board........... James Riady became co-president of Worthen Bank, and soon drew up plans for expansion into the international marketplace. He opened a new division, Worthen International Bank, with offices in Los Angeles, New York and Nassau, in 1985.Subsequently, BCCI agents, such as Abdullah Taha Bakhish invested in Worthen. Despite public opposition to the war from native Jordanians and the large Palestinian population, King Abdullah II has made clear that he will not stand in the way of any US-led operation," reported the Times of London.Bush isn't the only one who is not telling the truth about his war plans for Iraq! The people of the Middle East, in general, don't want a war with Iraq. Thus Turkey's regime makes public protests, even though the decision to overthrow Saddam and carve up Iraq was made months ago. Uniting Jordan and Iraq Might Be Prime Post-War Strategy "To make sure the Kurds will not upset U.S. ally Turkey by declaring an independent state, Washington would be able to deploy its forces into the Kurdish region, with newbases located just next to oil fields in areas such as Kirkuk."
