Brian Redman Given the level of sheer hatred of Clinton among Congressional Republicans, and given the politically-conservative tendencies of high-ranking military officers, it would not surprise me at all that in fact there exists a cabal of generals and admirals planning to arrest Clinton. Gore would at least be acceptable to them, even knowing the depth of his liberalism, because he is after all a Vietnam veteran rather than a draft-dodger. There are others in Washington, not necessarily among the military, whose hatred extends beyond Clinton personally to include everything the Democratic party has historically stood for; *they* might very well try to kill Gore to prevent a thoroughgoing liberal from becoming president. This country is poised on the edge of a very deep abyss. Somehow we have to keep our balance and pull ourselves back from the brink...but there are many, many people jumping up and down and doing their best to push us over the edge. On Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, according to Mr. Skolnick's sources, over a score of top-level military brass, Admirals and Generals, were considering how to go about arresting President Bill Clinton, their Commander-in-Chief, under provisions of the U.S. Military Code. An actual arrest has yet to occur. But any acceleration of the current conflict with Iraq, specifically the introduction of U.S. ground troops there, could be the final impetus for a serious split within the U.S. military, says Skolnick. We have already seen serious divisions erupting within political ranks here in the U.S. -- for example Sen. Trent Lott's unprecedented public remarks which questioned Bill Clinton's true motivation for bombing Iraq. At this point, says Skolnick, Bill Clinton is perceived by many as a "dead duck": politically finished. This news service (Conspiracy Nation News Service) had earlier stated the same: that "Bill Clinton is Finished." (CNNS, 12/11/98) Waiting in the wings to pick up the presidential mantle is U.S. Vice President Al Gore. But Gore, says Mr. Skolnick, is himself in danger. Skolnick believes there is and has been an ongoing plot to somehow eliminate Al Gore. Mr. Skolnick especially fears that Gore might even be assassinated. Hoping to avert such an awful circumstance, Mr. Skolnick has been trying to alert the public about the possibility of such an event. According to some news reports, a vote in the House of Representatives on the impeachment of Bill Clinton is imminent. Such a House vote could occur as early as Sunday, Dec. 20th. If the House votes for impeachment, the question arises, says Skolnick, as to whether Bill Clinton can remain as Acting President while a trial in the U.S. Senate hangs over his head. It may be that Al Gore would have to step in as Acting President, unless and until the Senate finally acquits Clinton of pending charges. And, as Acting President, Al Gore could even appoint an Acting Vice-President, such as Sen. Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia. In conversations with members of Al Gore's family, Mr. Skolnick has been asked for advice. "What should we do?" they reportedly have inquired. Skolnick's advice?
