FBI BACKS AGENT WITH CLOSE TIES TO COLUMBINE VIOLENT VIDEO MADE BY SON WHEN HE ATTENDED SCHOOL NOT CONFLICT OF INTEREST, AGENCY SAYS Denver Rocky Mountain News Officials with the FBI said Friday (5/22/99) their lead investigator in the Columbine High tragedy will stay in his post despite close ties to the school. Dwayne Fuselier's son graduated from Columbine in 1997 and was one of the students who produced a videotape more than two years ago that shows trenchcoat-wearing students armed with weapons moving through the school's halls. The film ends with four students walking away from the school as it explodes in flames. "I have complete faith and confidence in Dwayne Fuselier," said Keith DeVincentis, acting special agent in charge of the FBI's Denver office. In addition, FBI spokesman Gary Gomez said there was "absolutely no discussion" of reassigning Fuselier, 51, a PSYCHOLOGIST, in the wake of the disclosures in Friday's Denver Rocky Mountain News. "There is no conflict of interest," Gomez said. (What dimension is THIS guy from anyway? [JQ]) The tape, made in 1997, has no known connection to either Eric Harris or Dylan Klebold,... (As a matter of fact there WAS a connection between those who filmed the 1997 video and Harris and Klebold; that person being Brooks Brown, as information below will clarify.) Fuselier is one of three commanders leading the investigation, along with sheriff's Lt. John Kiekbusch and Capt. Dan Harris. The sheriff's department had taken no position on Fuselier's continuing role in the investigation, deputy Troy Gardalen said. Sheriff John Stone has not spoken publicly about any aspect of the investigation since Tuesday. Officials from the U.S. Attorney's office also would not discuss the situation. But Z.G. Standing Bear, a criminal justice professor at Colorado State University and a former criminal investigator for the U.S. Army, said federal officials should avoid the perception of a conflict of interest. In this case, he said, that means reassigning Fuselier, if for no other reason than to protect the agent. "That can be potentially dangerous to the agent conducting the inquiry," Standing Bear said. If he were running the investigation, Standing Bear said, he'd want agents with "no connection whatsoever" to the case Fuselier's son, who is attending college out of state, could not be reached for comment. -Caveat Lector- Ted Bundy had my neices billfold, all her ID's and the police contacted her; she had attended a munitions banquet somewhere, and saw him take it and saw his face. She attended Suawnee school, etc, and her father was top secret military...when I said list, let us say he got info on some of his targets and she was one...like the two little college girlsever go to a dance and leave your purse on a tablein those days you still could and if you were in good company. I was not given all the details on this; only that her father kept her off witness list. Bundy had a list, but some of it consisted of stolen credit cards. Might want to check into Billy Milligian and question why feds would have an interest in him. You do not have any inside information into this, but I dothough my neice is a beautiful girl, with long blonde hair, or did have, that alone may have drawn Bundy to take her billfoldregrdless, she had to move at the suggestion of the police and her fatherI might add, the USAF Academy and other projects of highly classified nature are all located in Colorado, and the Joint Chief of Staff School, War College is in Florida So, you are wrong about the list; may be I used list because the police considered her a target. Some were giggling and joking around, pointing at people who were wearing black, People deal with horror in different ways, and often the only way they can cope with it is to laugh...not that they find it funny, per se, that it just their type of coping mechanism... As horrible as you may find it, guaranteed there's probably already sick jokes on the Internet about the Columbine massacre... Try to be a little more compassionate for your peers who are handling this with a seemingly cavalier attitude...I'm sure if you scratch their surface, you'll find that they are as horrified with it as you are...but that their coping mechanism differs from yours... My belief is that this generation now, mine, is too callous and most likely cannot be changed to be aware of the actuality of horror.. Aw, hon...YOUR generation doesn't hold a candle to MY boomer generation, when it comes to callousness and self-centeredness... What I DO find with your generation is a tendency to have a problem with self-control, especially impulse control, usually due to MY generation having given you (and I'm speaking collectively here, not referring to you personally) everything you wanted when you were young...if you asked for it, especially if you demanded it via tears and tantrums, it was given to you...and when a good many of your peers reached adolescent and teen years, and suddenly had to face NOT getting everything they wanted, when they were finally faced with some limitations, they had no coping mechanisms to deal with it, since they were never given the opportunity to learn at an early age, when it would have been easy... A lot of evil is coming out of Colorado; from Ted Bundy, the guy that shot Reagan, these kids, the little Jon Benet Ramsey.the horrible movie that got the Oscar, about the butchers which was said to be a comedy that got an academy award. 'Let's go to Colorado and destroy the evil! Colorado is terrible, let's put the blame there..' Only my brother-in-law's interference kept her from being a witness; but she had to move. He, at that time, worked with the space program and von Braun. Well, of course you're right, but that happened back in the days when we had prayer in the schools and everything, so obviously a lot of the folks weren't ever as nice as they should have been. I remember working with a guy who quit school, because his folks were so poor he had to go to school in jeans, and the kids from the more affluent families teased him about that. It is even funnier now when kids all (rich and poor, large and small) wear jeans to school. It is a sad fact, but very few families practice or even preach kindness. Probably because being kind is a lot harder than being mean. It's like killing someone or saving a life. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to kill someone. Killing may send you to hell, but it's remarkably easy. It's really hard to save lives; that takes knowledge, practice, skill and timing, to say nothing of the effort involved. -Caveat Lector- so right, june and all being different is no treat in school being part indian, and dark, i took my share of crappola.(this was way back in the so-called dark ages of the 50s) was made to feel ashamed at times-and had fantasies-not of killing, but of being big enough to knock these kids around(some teachers too) never did knock anyone around, but i do remember wanting to. Thought things were so different now?? i know in the school i work in, if they catch someone in a mean remark-they go after them-(this is grade school) they dont let them get away with it. The Yassenoff family had other ties, but this is no time to go into that. Nothing Dylan's father is into oil, etc., it makes the picture a littler different. Dyland 's mother was part of the Jewish Community in Bexley, Ohio; and according to all who knew her and the family this thing is impossible to undertand. High school can be cruel if you're not part of the ``in'' crowd, and Klebold and Harris were reminded daily that they were ``out.'' ``Our school is very status structured. People would yell comments to them, like weirdo or outcast,'' said Johnna Nelson, 17, a junior who describes herself as a preppie. ``They'd blow it off, but over and over, it must have had an effect.'' On Tuesday, Klebold and Harris walked into their school carrying guns and explosives and killed 13 people. We're going to kill every one of you,'' one of the gunmen yelled in the library, recalled Aaron Cohn. Both teen-agers' families issued statements Wednesday expressing sympathy for the victims, and Klebold's family wondered what went wrong: ``Like the rest of the country, we are struggling to understand why this happened,'' the family said. A couple of months ago, members of the Trenchcoat Mafia made a date to fight the jocks on a Friday night at a baseball field, said football player Matt Good. The jocks showed up, but the Trenchcoats were two hours late, and they went to the wrong spot, Good said. Gunman May Have Had Web Page By CHRIS ALLBRITTON .c The Associated Press NEW YORK (AP) -- The FBI intends to serve search warrants on America Online to gather information on Web sites and member profiles relating to the shooting at Columbine High School. One of the suspected gunmen, Eric Harris, is believed to have had a Web site filled with apocalyptic imagery, apparent bomb diagrams and song lyrics such as ``WHAT I DON'T LIKE I WASTE.'' Denver Division spokesman for the bureau, Gary Gomez, said the FBI would present the warrants as early as today. Using the America Online screen name ``rebdomine'' -- possibly a word play on the school mascot, the Rebel -- Harris apparently titled his Web page ``REB's words of wisdom, if you don't like it, ill kill you'' and packed it with drawings of devils, guns and pyres of skulls. The site featured verses like: ``WHAT I DON'T SAY I DON'T DO.'' ``WHAT I DON'T DO I DON'T LIKE.'' ``WHAT I DON'T LIKE I WASTE.'' Those lyrics and others quoted on the Web page are from various songs by the German industrial rock band KMFDM. On its Web site, the band expressed sympathy for the victims of the shooting. ``We are sick and appalled, as is the rest of the nation, by what took place in Colorado yesterday,'' said Sascha K., founder of KMFDM. At the bottom of the AOL page, Harris listed his favorite chat room: ``ich bin ein auslander,'' pidgin German for ``I am an outsider.'' AOL spokeswoman Kim McCreery said she couldn't comment on whether this was, in fact, Harris' account. Any content considered relevant to the school shooting was taken down and preserved for the FBI, she said. ``Our policy in a criminal investigation is to comply with a subpoena or search warrant as quickly as we can get the information together,'' McCreery said. ``We'll cooperate with authorities and do what we can.'' Harris also apparently had a member profile on AOL, a self-written description of an account holder's interests. Profiles thought to belong to the other gunman, Dylan Klebold, also were apparently taken down. ``At this point we have no clear evidence that the people who were directly involved posted any kind of warnings,'' McCreery said Wednesday. Harris' alleged page was copied and posted at another Web site before it was taken down. While there is no way to absolutely prove these are Web pages created by Harris, there are indications they are real. The page included a Microsoft Word document with instructions on making pipebombs. Microsoft Word automatically inserts the author's name in the code of the document, which often can be read when the document is converted to plain text. The name listed was Wayne N. Harris, who is the father of Eric Harris, according to the Denver Post. The copied page could also traced back to a site called ``The Floating Pancreas,'' another site filled with death imagery. The Floating Pancreas listed a profile of a member going by the name ``NiggerRip'' and listing his e-mail as [EMAIL PROTECTED] and included a Web page pointing back to rebdomine's original AOL address. The profile was created in February 1998. Another AOL spokeswoman, Tricia Primrose, noted that hoaxes are common after big news events. It is relatively easy to perpetrate an Internet hoax because of free e-mail services and trial accounts on providers like AOL. (AP) -- Months before they massacred a dozen students and a teacher, two high school students made a video portraying themselves in trench coats, shooting athletes as they walk down their school hallway. The video was made for a class last fall. On Tuesday, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold wearing black trench coats, walked into the school, spraying gunfire and setting off explosives before killing themselves. Witnesses said they targeted athletes, In the video, the two ``had their friends pretend to be the jocks, and they pretended to be the gunmen shooting them,'' junior Chris Reilly told the Denver Rocky Mountain News Thursday. ``I saw the video Eric and Dylan made. It represented what happened.'' Eric Veik, 16, who helped the two produce several videos, said all were in a similar genre. ``They always wore trench coats. (AP) -- They are called the ``Trench Coat Mafia,'' a group of about 10 students who wear long black coats, keep to themselves and follow shock rocker Marilyn Manson. Despite their dark lifestyle, they had not shown an inclination for violence before Tuesday, according to some of their fellow students at Columbine High School. Authorities and school district officials said they had never heard of the group. ``We were not aware of the Trench Coat Mafia until today,'' Superintendent Jane Hammond said Tuesday. A reference to the group in last year's Columbine yearbook reveals nothing more than general teen-age exuberance. Even so, some students said they believed the two gunmen who went on a shooting rampage at Columbine were members of the group. Classmates and Denver media identified the gunmen as Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. Police refused to identify them. Sean Kelly, a 16-year-old student, said Harris and several members of the group made a video in class about guns they had. He also said that several members recently bragged about getting new guns. Some students said the killers targeted minorities and athletes. Kelly said he heard Trench Coat Mafia members making ``generally derogatory remarks'' about blacks and Hispanics. Had the kid's parents complained to the school about the treatment of their son? Probably, but that usually doesn't get much response. This kid didn't have a gun. This happened before everyone seemed to have a lot of those around the house. There's never an excuse for murder, but it might be a good idea if kids were taught how to treat each other so that everyone was enjoying the experience. Well a few years ago, this lawyer ended up working in a Casino in Las Vegas, and one night came in with a sub machine gun and tryed to rob the place; he was gunned down, before he killed anyonehe now resides in a prison. The point I am trying to make is this; this man to me was obviously sick and need professional help - and I bent over backwards to assist him when he needed help.he did nt get the help he needed, and ended up shooting up a casino where he could have gunned down a lot of innocent gamblers.. I am always nice to the nuts.and you know, that one kid the killers warned away today - the one said "get out of here, we always liked you"and he did. So human kindness could prevent a lot of trouble; blaming the victims - well, yes in their ignorance and youth, they probably didnot realize wht they were doing. But the teachers and the police, had all been warnedand did nothing. Sick people are sick people; we had a football coach commit suicide, whom I never liked because he was cruel in many ways; there was a policeman hwo committed suicide, who went out of his way to inflict pain and was an alcoholic; there was a killer on the loose up a highway, who murdered 8 or 9 persons with whom the police mingled everyday. You never know with whom you are dealing. Therefore, it would be wise to treat people with a little common courtesy, and the last thing you would want to do is to ridicule a sick person. Have you ever studied abnormal psychology? Well, there is a lot of blame to put around that community tonight; and a lot of innocents were hurt. The school prinipal, it seemed, is more concerned about the CYA club and her job, than what caused this disaster. Colleen you are right about being nice to the nuts, oftentimes that very kindness is what they lose and miss; sometimes it can make the difference. about those black trenchcoats; i saw the movie "matrix" about a week ago and one of the most distinctive impressions one gets from the movie is that in the big battle scenes the heros have on black trenchcoats and they are also blasting away at the villains in the movie but there is a lot of casual violence by the heros, simply because the audience is led to believe that the innocent people being shot are only in virtual reality so that it does not matter who gets blasted. so they blast away with abandon because the world they are blasting is not real. the way suggestion works is that it does not matter how you might qualify a suggestion, the suggestion goes through; the qualifications are to satisfy and pacify the reasoning mind. therefore the suggestion coming through is to blast away with abandon; it is allowed through because it is only virtual reality, pacifies the reason. many computer games are shoot'em up the bad guy, also. for a society as saturated in violence as ours is, it is suprizing that there has not been a whole lot more violence up to now. that seems to becoming less and less the case as time progresses. as a society we have been sowing the wind for some time and eventually we will have to reap the whirlwind. i only hope that i am wrong. west coast meanderings chris DECLARATION DISCLAIMER == CTRL is a discussion and informational exchange list.
