Due to guilt by association.

Note, too, that heterosexual males are NEVER placed in charge

 totally inappropriate and unacceptable, too.

When I was in the Girl Scouts 2 or 3 of the fathers would drive up to
the campsite with us, help set up, haul water (the camp at the time
didn't have running water), eat a hot dog or 2, and then LEAVE. They
NEVER spent the night at the campsite with us. That, and buying/eating
cookies, was the extent of the fathers' participation. In my sons' Cub
Scout pack, every adult involved is a parent of a member.

  Hope you know
Scout enrollment has skyrocketed since this issue came up for
people are showing their support for them in records numbers.

This year, we had to split our pack in half because it got so big.

Any money I would have spent on the local schools will go
directly to the Scouts to replace that to which they were
entitled that has been robbed from them by those seeking to
promote an agenda unacceptable to the BSA.

We lost our United Way funding. Private donations soared, and United
Way donations fell. I don't think my employer is going to designate UW
as one of the charities in this year's holiday drive, because the
donations dropped too much.

Which also results in the straight student being automatically branded

Not in my town they're not.

Of course they are; what they are NOT entitled to is to impose

Is AIDS a superstition? How about Hepatitis B, or the various bowel and

Well, June, I was asking Nate for I do not discuss anything
with you if I can help it but since you have butted in, that
just is not nearly good enough. The idea of including
straight kids in an organization knowing full well that they
are not likely to participate is a ratther safe and smug way
of discriminating without appearing to do so. Sure, some
might attend who have gay friends, etc. but I dare say they,
the straight kids, would NOT be placed IN CHARGE of the
organization the way a Boy Scout Scoutmaster would be. This
is a totally invalid argument and comparing merely attending
to an adult being responsible and having authority over
Scouts. Big, Big difference. For one glaringly obvious
thing, they would all be the same age if straight kids
attended but it is an ADULT gay who is demanding to be placed
in charge of CHILDREN Scouts.

Note, too, that heterosexual males are NEVER placed in charge
of GIRL Scouts nor have they demanded to be so. That would be
totally inappropriate and unacceptable, too. Makes me wonder
just why the desperation for gays to be placed in charge of
the little boys.

Now you are evermore ridiculing the spelling of others so I
must also take note of your changing my wording of 'coarse' as
in lacking refinement to your 'course' as in GIVING
INSTRUCTION? Little Freudian slip there? LOL!! And you
wonder why parents are concerned!!

But this discourse with you and Nate has inspired me and I
have contacted my State reps voicing my opinion and will do so
to national ones expressing my outrage that tax money is being
used to discriminate and disallow the Boy Scouts on the most
unfair basis as you have described for it is NOT the same at
all. Your idea that 'inclusion' by other students and placing
an ADULT in CHARGE are the same it totally bogus and invalid
and does not hold water. I also doubt that the gay groups go
alone into unsupervised camping areas under the tutelage of
adult heterosexual for days at a time. Apples and oranges but
I will protest MY tax money supporting this discriminatory
action. At the least, I can refuse to locally buy all the
little goodies and make all the donations I am constantly
asked for on this basis.

Parents and parents ONLY have the right to control what their
children are taught in matters concerning morals, values,
religion and sexual behavior for they are the ones ultimately
responsible for their children. You are only entitled to live
your OWN live and chose your own lifestyle. You are NOT
entitled to have access to the children of others nor the Boy
Scouts.

So it is just as I thought~~the tyranny of the vocal minority
wanting to spoil things for everybody else. Hope you know
Scout enrollment has skyrocketed since this issue came up for

Any money I would have spent on the local schools will go

I do NOT believe for one minute that if a heterosexual, fundamentalist
minister, say Pentecostal or Baptist, wanted to be in charge of the gay students
that he would not be discriminated against. I do not think this inclusion
policy would apply at all. And it is easy to be inclusive in something
that is sooffensive to most that they would not even consider attending
for it violates their religious beliefs and personal moral and ethical
standards, not to mention is the fastest method of spreading AIDS. It is
downright dangerous as well as offensive to the religious beliefs of most.

"Since there is no such entity as 'the public,' since thepublic
is merely a number of individuals, the idea that 'thepublic interest'
supersedes private interests and rights canhave but one meaning: that the
interests and rights of someindividuals take precedence over the interests
and rights ofothers." Ayn
Rand
But you have gotten your way and the Boy Scouts are NOT using public
facilities. Most locally are in churches and homes any way.Always
have been so it makes little difference to the Scouts. My sons are too old
but I had them in my house probably forten yearswhen they were the
appropriate ages and enjoyed it. It is the preferential treatment DEMANDED
by the tyrannical gay activists that I find annoying as well as the use of tax
payer's money being used to fund something proven so unhealthy. You
are very hypocritical in the application of that local autonomy that you preach
ONLY when it is to the advantage of some agenda of your own.I guess we can
just consider it like welfare and helping the very unfortunate and it is well
worth it to keep the Scouts as they have traditionally beenfor all these
years.Just remember that what goes around, comes around for this is
the very thing that is destroying support for the public schools. When
they are all private, they will be free to open their facilities to whomever
they chose. In the meanwhile, the churches and homes are providing just
fine for the Scouts and their membership enjoying record numbers BECAUSE of this
overt attempt of the gay males to gain access to unsupervised children for
whatever their purposes might be. I find it interesting that heterosexual
males do not attempt to be GIRL Scout leaders and whine and demand to be allowed
to do so. My consolation is in the fact that gays will NEVER be allowed to
act as Scoutmasters, particularly after their behavior has been observed in
regard to their intolerance for the religious and moral values of others.

wonder why Nate took name of Asmodius, a Hebrew God and Lord of Flies -
lusty devil.

Asmodeus, in Hebrew demonology, the chief of the demons, occasionally
identified with the prince of demons, Beelzebub. He figures largely in
later Hebrew tradition, appearing in the Book of Tobit in the Old
Testament apocrypha as an evil spirit possessed of great lust.

He is represented as having loved Sarah, daughter of Raguel, and as
having slain seven men who were successively married to Sarah.

Tobias, who intended to marry Sarah, succeeded with the help of the
angel Raphael in exorcising the demon. Raphael pursued Asmodeus to Upper
Egypt and bound him, enabling Tobias and Sarah to live in peace.

In talmudic legends, Asmodeus is associated with Solomon, whom he aided,
notably in building the temple. He is also regarded as the cause of the
excesses ascribed to Solomon.

The only time I ever see Nate post to this list is when he's pushing
the pro-gay side of whatever the issue is. Anyone who lets his or her
sexuality run his or her life, is the one who needs help.

Regardless of my personal life, which is none of anyones business. I am a
professional businessman. I believe in the truth above all else. This is
what has guided me in my life and why I post against Aleisha's tirades,
because what people perceive is unfortunate enough to cast the first
impression. Look deeper into one's soul is what I say. I agree with 95% of
what is posted on this list and therefore do not feel the need to post!

This is 100 percent right. Personally I am 100 percent certain that 100
percent of people who disagree with my viewpoint are 100 percent evil.

Kidding aside, without knowing Nate's age, hormone levels and other
background information I would hesitate to make such a blanket statement. In
younger days most of the people I knew were letting sexuality run their
lives. Its importance decreases directly with hormone levels and inversely
with maturity level.

The only time I ever see Nate post to this list is when he's pushing
the pro-gay side of whatever the issue is. Anyone who lets his or her
sexuality run his or her life, is the one who needs help.

wonder why Nate took name of Asmodius, a Hebrew God and Lord of Flies -
lusty devil.

Re: [CTRL] Reply to an Amelia Basher

2001-06-04 Thread Amelia

-Caveat Lector-

Well, Nate, I accept your apology but think you remember me
from previous posts supporting the Boy Scouts. I think the
original posts this time which you find so offensive are more
about parent's right to chose what and by whom their children
are taught in government schools. . I believe that is the
concern of most of us here and few, if any, give a rip about
your lifestyle. You stated that a Fox News Report was some
right-wing religious writing and that was not true. It is our
own children over whom we feel we have rights. Check the
stats on home schooling of late. We are also withdrawing
support for public education thanks to folks who think they
will dictate to what our children are exposed.

I know this is politically incorrect these days when the State
'owns' the children and will teach what/when/where they chose
but some of us have a hard time with that concept. But I DO
have a question for you since you are a most tolerant fellow
by your own claims. Why are there over 800 schools in this
country that provide facilities for the gay student clubs (Gay
Pride or whatever each is called) based on their homosexual
orientation yet deny the Boy Scouts the use of those same
facilities based on their heterosexual orientation? I always
ask this question and then those so very vocal suddenly go
silent and move on to other topics but I would really like to
know for I do not understand how this is fair. These are
tax-funded public facilities and I do not think one group
should be allowed to use them and not the other. If the Boy
Scouts are banned, then the gay students should not be slowed
to use the facilities, either.

Now Nessie claims the teaching of human sexuality is biology
but it has far more ramifications that that, at least for most
humans. It has psychological effects and some of this coarse,
crude stuff being promoted can be scarring to sensitive
children, I dare say among which Nessie was not counted as a
child nor adult either, for that matter. It is also the only
activity that results on the reproduction of other humans and
therefore carries far greater importance than the life cycle
of a dung beetle, for example. I realize that if a person
does not realize this, I am wasting my effort in even
bothering to explain it but I do want to make it clear that
those of us who oppose total strangers taking these liberties
with our children by such things as sharing their personal
sexual experiences are not fooling us for one minute with
their doublespeak. We are not nearly as stupid as you seem to
think we are and we are not fooled for one second.

Tolerance is only for little groups and minorities who profess
to be constant 'victims' yet seek by their actions to deprive
others of the same tolerance which they so loudly DEMAND. I
think this is going to have the opposite effect than that
desired and the patience and good will of the majority is
being badly abused in this regard. This is a very foolish
course of action on the part of extremists of every stripe.
And I think that those who oppose a gay lifestyle on the basis
of their religion or whatever as just as entitled to their
beliefs as you are to yours. I further think that many, if not
most, of the members of self-professed minorities are so
desperately seeking some form of discrimination that they
usually just fabricate it to validate their victim status and
reassure themselves that they are indeed 'special' and
deserving of some sort of preferential treatment. This form
of behavior is aka 'spitting into the wind' to put it politely
for one can never FORCE others to think and feel a certain
way. This determination by a few to enforce their will over
the children of the majority may well shut down the public
educational system in this country for I know I, for one, will
oppose every cent spent upon it as long as it is controlled by
special interest groups pushing an agenda contrary to what I
think is in the best interest of my own children and
grandchildren.
